I'll tell you what buddy, I couldn't begin to count the times I've had the same problem...people all around me catching fish on the same thing I'm using and I couldn't BUY a strike! With this much time invested in that bait and no action, your confidence in it is zilch. Look through your tackle box, find something that you really feel might bring a strike, and tie THAT on. You need confidence in your bait, if there are fish in that water and you present your bait right, they'll bite. Just keep trying different baits 'til you find what they'll chew! It may take a while, so roll up those sleeves and fight!SmileyCentral.com

Whenever I experience fish not wanting to bite a worm, I switch to a green pumpkin crawdad, like a Net Bait Baby Paca Craw or a 3.75" Craw Papi from YUM baits. They are my go-to baits when fishing Texas or Carolina rigged. Be patient and SLOW down your presentation. Let the fish nibble a little before you set the hook and you'll be successful. Good luck.

Are you holding your tongue right? Seriously, like Mo said, you have to have confidence in what you're doing. It comes through in your bait. As you get frustrated you have lapses in concentration. Growing up I could stand next to my uncle and watch him pull fish after fish and I wouldn't get a bite. Now I have days where I stand and pull fish after fish and watch other people get frustrated. Be patient. It will come. One day you will have more tackle than you can fit in your boat and you'll have to figure out what to take and what to leave!
Good things come to those who bait... Hoss in Wa

Stick with what you got...I think for about 80% of us...Bass are still in the summer pattern, which means slow down....fish everything slowly...Most of your strikes and hits are going to come at sunrise and sunset. It's going to be alot harder to catch'em midday, escpecially fishing from shore. And most of all be confident. Confidence in yourself and gear, the bass will come..

I was catching some decent fish early in the summer on a pumpkinseed worm with a chartreuse tail.  The water got murky with a heavy algae bloom and they stopped hitting it.  I started switching colors and when I got to a red shad worm (red with a black back) they started pounding it again.  Today, the water cleared up and I couldn't buy a hit on red shad.  Went back to the pumpkinseed/chartreuse and got 3 in 15 minutes.  The point I'm trying to make is that the red shad was much more visible in that green murky water than the pumpkinseed.  You might try experimenting with some other colors and see if they turn on.  I got a good variety of colors at Walmart for not too much money.  Good luck.

put on a dropshot rig and work that small worm. try a flaurocarbon line instead of mono. here in cali we use 6 lb flauro on pressured lakes and 4 1/2 inch worms. good luck. Scott
