If Florida regs allow it, spend $10 or so on a minnow trap and catch your own minnows! Minnows normally won't hit a hook. Another option(again, if the law allows) is to catch some small bluegill and use them. |

My dad used to fish for shiners with a small hook and tiny piece of bread or worm. His comment to me on gold hooks often used for trout fishing, was "shiner hooks". Read the state regulations on live bait, all that material is available at lots of places which sell tackle. As for worms, check out raised bed gardening (library), worms just love places with lots of organic material to burrow in. There may be other ways to attract worms also. |

I think you need to start to talking to others in your fishing area, sure there are some who will try to baffle you with bull but then there are lots of others who will tell you what worked for them. Give it some time. Heck, even people who get away from it a while have to sometimes get a little "re-education". |

This is a very good point '151...you have to always remember that these tips you're getting on here are coming from all across the country. Who knows what is legal? Always check your local laws before trying things you see on here!

some states you can only use them on the lake you catch them in . If legal a casting net works good and its a one man operation . |
|
Take a kid fishing , If the fish aint biting entertain them. |
