That's great that you are interested in learning to use a baitcaster, but I'm gonna skip all the sugar coating and get strait to the meat and potatoes. A baitcaster is a serious fishing tool, and probably not the best choice to learn to fish on. Now that's not saying you can't do it, some folks pick up on them right away...others struggle with them after years of use. Personally, I have several baitcasting outfits and I love them, but for learning to bass fish I'd go with a spinning or spincast outfit. You're probably going to enjoy fishing more by reeling in a few bass instead of spending most of your time picking out a backlash. We can get more specific with some choices if you're interested, or some nice baitcasters if that's
REALLY the direction you want to take. Just let me know.
