Just wondering, how much do you guys take into consideration the wind when fishing rivers, seeing as how the current is really the primary position-er of  bass. I'm not talking a big river with lots of backwaters and islands and things. Just a straight, boring river.
I swear, it was this big (---------------------------------------)

Wind plays an important factor for the anglers fishing on a lake, ocean, bay or little boring river. If your shore fishing, your gonna want the wind to your back if at all possible, so it doesnt effect your casts...same with a boat, wind will effect your casting ability and your boat control. If your drifting too fast, your bait or lure won't stay in the strike zone long enough to get hit. There are several ways to compensate for wind on boat. Trolling motor, drift sock or the poor man's drift sock, a bucket..or just anchor up. Fish, I believe will still be holding in relation to the current, but with the wind, it will be harder to target those fish.

The wind overall doesn't affect my approach to fishing on the river but it does change boating positions as well as considering casting directions. The worst case scenario is a wind in the opposite direction of the river current flow.  I often anchor based on current flow, and the wind just blows all of that.
