    Hi all,
my little yacht is an Alumacraft Fisherman145 Tiller.
I fish on trout lakes so her propulsion is a Minn Kota Vantage 80 lb thrust trolling motor
her fuel tank is a 24 volt system 4x deep cycle gell batteries inline.
this gives me about 2 days fishing on a single charge at trolling speeds and also supplies all other power to lights, live well, electronics.
if the wind gets up,ill kick it up to 10 on the control dial and she will do about 5 knots in a head wind.
the batteries are kept hot by an onboard 10amp 4 bank charger made by a fellow in Tucson.
just plug into a wall outlet/camp generator and shes ready in a few hours.
electronics consist of Lowrance X-125...mid range...works great.
live well, cushion high back seats and double hull foam, makes this a little boat that can do it.
Jocelyn is her name, after my grandaughter of course.

    J

Mine is a 14 1/2' custom jon/flats fiberglass hull.  I built the dry storage/casting decks.   It has a 2003 Mercury 25 hp, MinnKota Riptide 55# 3X with Diehard AGM and MK110 on-board charger.  I have a 21' telescoping pushpole for real skinny water.   It is great for 2 people in bays or flats.  Can run in 7", troll in 9" and pole in 5".  Have hit 36 MPH with me, my buddy and all gear(650#) on a glassy day.  Initially paid $300 for hull.  I stripped, filled, re-glassed where needed, primed and painted.  Then built it from there.  About $4800.00 with motors, trailer, battery, electronics and accessories.   Does what I want it to do.

Moose a gator would climb right in and make you a snack.LOL    It`s 500. or less. I got it on craigslist for 250. I can`t have a trailer where I live or I would have a wide jon boat.I leave that on top of my van.
I`m still waiting to catch something big enough to pull me around.
It will go just about anywhere with 2`` of water.

Mine is a 18 ft fiberglass Tidecraft bass boat with a 115 Merc and a Motorguide Bill Dance special edition 36 lb thrust trolling motor.  It has front and rear live wells, storage under the bench seats that run down each side, front and rear casting decks, and a built in cooler in the middle between the driver and passanger seats.  Great boat for bigger lakes and anyplace with a concrete boat ramp, but I'm looking to buy something smaller and lighter so I can get into some of the out of the way places without improved ramps.  My boat weighs so much without a concrete ramp the trailer tires will sink up in the mud and get stuck.  It's 1250 lbs hull weight plus motor gear and me, which I'm no little guy.

I'm looking at an Alumacraft in the 16-17' range. Anyone out there own one? I would like some feedback before I buy. The one thing that attracted me to the Alumacraft was the wide gunnels which make mounting downriggers much easier. PM if you would like. Tom

Mines a older SeaRay Express Cruiser that I mainly use on the Great Lakes here in Michigan. She's a 27ft, with a 8'6" beam, and a 3 foot draft. The main powerplant is a 350cu. in.  / 260hp with a Alpha outdrive. There is a 100 gallon fuel tank for the main engine. There is also a 30 hp. Johnson outboard for a kicker to troll with. I installed a seperate 13 gallon fuel tank for that engine as it is a 2 stroke motor. There's 2  Cannon electric downriggers, plus I have 2 Penn 825 manual downriggers that go on the port and starbord sides from time to time instead of the dipseys or planner boards which are normally run in those positions.

I heard they were changing the regulations on the Current below Big Springs to a max of 40 hp .

Nice to see someone else from SEMO here.  I've been wanting to do some smallmouth fishing on the Current, but my boat isn't suitable for small rivers likr that.

They are trying to get Current River limited.I know from gooseneck above to I think big springs is outboard only and above that is what 60 or 40 something like that.I would'nt mind seeing a limit from Big Springs to Ark. line because of the amount of people who can't respect the river or the people on it.I also have several friends who have shoal runners and large outboards who use comman sense and have respect for everyone else that would have to change their whole setup.I guess we will see.

Wow, there are some nice boats guys! For the past 10 yrs I've been fishing from an old aluminum 16' lone star. At one time it had a windshield and a small cabin on it too, someone removed all this though. Its a tank really, ha, all my kids can go to one side and it just sorta lists a little but its stable and over 6 ft. wide. I lost the 50hp Johnson this spring so Its currently powered by a mighty 4.5 hp Johnson sea horse and even though it looks kinda pitiful on the transom of this big boat it actually pushes it fairly decent. I'll see if my son can help me put a picture of it on here later, maybe you can get a chuckle out of it!!

Had it out twice now and even caught a few fish out of it. Wish I had a better picture to show you, but I couldn't zoom wide enough with the camera.

I have two, only one of which is I'd still be able to put out on the water at this time: • 11' Coleman Crawdad Ram-X jonboat • 9' Classic Accessories Colorado inflatable pontoon boat The Crawdad used to be towed around on a trailer when I had a truck fitted with a ball on the bumper, but the bumper rusted out and had to be removed before it could break off. I had to get rid of the truck last year and have no vehicle which can tow the old trailer at the present time. The pontoon boat can be loaded into my dad's truck, but I've found that the bed is too small and the whole thing needs to be disassembled to fit in. I used it once or twice since then but would rather have something which requires minimal hassle and can be more readily transported to where I can put it in. For that reason, I've been looking at a couple of options. In time, I hope to at least get a decent aluminum boat up to 17' for use on more than just local ponds and lakes (I'm aiming for upper bay tidewater, larger lakes and rivers where live - northern Delaware within easy driving distance of the Chesapeake and the rivers).

Just traded in a Wellcraft 1994 Eclipse 182S.  Not really made for fishing.  Now have a 2010 Nitro 189 Sport with a Mercury 115HP Optimax.  Can't wait for ice off to get it in the water.

Well I have actually 4 boats, but 2 are ready to use on the water! The first is a Matthew 16.5' semi V fiberglass, it has a 50Hp Yamaha and 70Lb thrust Minn Kota Edge 2 depth finder - Eagle & Hummingbird. The other one is 10' Pelican pontoon, useing a Minn Kota 55 Lb Thrust and a Hummingbird depth finder.

The other 2 boats are a TomBoy tri-hull 15', No motor have to repair the transom, bt it from a man that said it has no problems, the motor that was on it was a 35 Hp Mariner long shaft needed work, sold it! Then the other is a 14' Grumman Semi -V , has a 25 Hp Evinrude manual start and steering. I bought this one from a man stated that he couldn't take it out on the water due to no drain plug on the boat. His grandson tossed it ou one day while mowing the lawn. I did a complete make over and put carpet new wires, benches with padded seats, live well and storage areas and depth finders front & back. On the maiden voyage at my local lake, I was out on this lake about 15 -20 min's. Then I was sinking, started to head back to the landing, but the OB wouldn't start and I had to use my T/M back to the ramp!

I had to sell my boat, but this is what I had. It was a 1973 SeaSprite. Completely gutted. Used a Minn Kota 55lb thrust trolling motor to get around. It wasn't the best looking boat, but she was solid.

My 16 1/2 foot Macinaw Canoe is my yacht. I made some "outriggers" (sections of 8" heating duct filled with some empty coffee cans and sealed with foam) so I can stand if I want, and my 1972 Tanaka 23cc "outboard " takes me upstream just fine.  And, I sometimes drag a length of chain when floating drownstream to slow my speed when float fishing...

Mine is a '84 Lund TYEE 5.5 18' alluminum with a 150 hp Evinrude. I have a wireless 75lb trust motorguide trolling motor on it. An Eagle 480 fishfinder, going to add a Hummingbird 597 gps combo this summer hopefully. Equpped with a livewell and bait well, its a fishing machine, not the newest but its perfect for the lakes and river here.

2009 Stratos 176 XT 50 Yamaha for fishing and a 1976 SmokerCraft Whitewater 16 w/1978 50 Mercury for ducks. The SmokerCraft has been taken down to the rivets 3 times and rebuilt, so it's a one of a kind machine! We moved the console to the starboard and added casting decks front and back with a trolling motor on the bow. It's coated with a marine grade non skid coating bow to aft so clean up is a breeze.

Just bought a 1992 Bass Cat, 18ft with a 150 hp Mercury XR6. In very good condition and reliable.  Had to buy a new battery so that problem is solved. Looking forward to many hour on the lakes this year.  Doing some local bass tournaments, hopefully be in the money more this year, big fun either way.

I have a Minnkota 80 lb. thrust bow mounted electric as well that can be set to follow a set direction, and when locked in , will automatically compensate for wind shear and keep boat on pre set course.

I have a 2010 20 ft Bennington pontoon boat with a 50 HP Yamaha 4 stroke outboard. It is not the fishing version, but I added the trolling motor 1/2 gate and installed a Motorguide 55 lb thrust wireless remote trolling motor, a factory installed livewell under one of the bench seats, an Eagle Cuda 350 Sonar/GPS, and 2 extra large drift socks. It has done well for me seeing as I have 14 Grandchildren and we need a lot of room to go fishing with the family.
