I was wondering if anyone has used the i-pilot and how ell you liked them. Any pros or cons you found? Does it do everything that it says? I want to see if the i-pilot is worth the money before I buy one. We do a lot of Catfish tournys and we troll 90% of the time for them. It sounds like the i-pilot would be right up our alley for this. Thanks for any info on this.

I bought an i-pilot a few months ago for my PD V2 Trolling motor (Shhhhh...don't tell the wife). Simply put, IT'S WORTH THE INVESTMENT, I love it. Even thou I lost the use of the foot controller (on the PD V2 models), it only took a few times on the water for me to get used to the remote. However, if you own the Terrova, you don't have that worry. The Spot-Lock and Record A Track features are cool. I fish 90% of the time on one lake, therefore the Record A Track and Spot-Lock features work awesome for me. I leave the landing and push one button and the i-pilot does all the work, all I have to do is set the speed and start casting. I rarely use the CoPilot and Advanced AutoPilot feature, given that it doesn't really apply for my style of fishing, but it's a nice feature to have readily available if needed. If I had to choose between a $400.00 rod/reel setup or the i-pilot, I'd choose the i-pilot. Hope this helps.

Thanks mr2105 it does help out. We are getting into some serious cat tournaments (TW and Cabelas King Kat tourneys) and when trolling or drifting we hit good cats I like the idea that we can get that exact same drift or troll path again. Like I said I want to make sure it's worth the money. We have invested quite alot in rods, reels, and fishfinders so now it's time for a very good trolling motor. Thanks again.

I ran one for a day last summer on a friends boat. My big boat trolling motor fried last fall, so guess what I'm replacing it with. I'm getting the Terrova. The foot pedal is useful for making minor steering corrections without having to use the remote.

Oops!  Didn't mean to do that.  How come this thing won't let me delete this post?
