is it true that big fish sometimes hold and hunt near where a body of water in this case a small river dumps into a big river would this be a good possible spot for bigger fish?

Totally true. When two rivers meet there's an increased amount of forage concentrated together for the fish. It's not just rivers but other tributaries like creaks and streams.

Here in the twin cities it's a popular place to fish where the Mississippi river and the Minnesota river meet.

It'll be good fishing for sure, the only downside is that if you're just trying to target just one species, you're likely catch a bit of everything swimming round there.

No matter what species I fish for, I always anticipate catching something else. It makes fishing more interesting.
