i own one but if you have never used it be very careful because until you figure out how light it needs to be set for what you are fishing for you may trip it and get hooked which causes great pain wherevere the hook lands
Keep your lines tight and feel the big bite

Are those things legal in all states? Ive never heard of them but will check into them. I take it they are for panfish.

These were actually designed originally for the milltary, used in their survival packs, I have one myself that was issued to me. you get a bite it sets the hook no questions.

I too bought an automatic fisherman at the begining of the year and i havent had much luck on tip ups this year to begin with but i did catch a 20 inch northern and 20 min. later caught a 30 inch northern on mine. The hardest part is getting set up but i made sure i mastered mine b4 i took out and as long as you know how to hook up a tip up then it should work for you...

sonar? or they have a large orange weight with a gator clip to attach it to ur lure and judge depth, depending what your looking will determine the depth you should be fishing in.......pike usually anywhere from 3 to 25 f.o.w. trout 3 to 40 f.o.w. walleye deep or shallow depending on their pattern salmon deep channels panfish idk
