well, thanks to the recent arctic blast we're getting, it looks like we are going to get in some ice fishing here in central NJ. we didn't get out last year at all. the ice was just about safe....then warm rain, and then warm weather. so much for ice fishing last year. so, we got the boat out and went for Pike.

Ice looks good for this weekend, and it's supposed to stay cold for the next week or so. I've got two guys that have never had the joy to go out on the ice. We have more free time on our hands this year, because we're not working, and it's a good chance to get there "feet wet".

I've been ice fishing since I was a kid, and enjoy exposing people that have never tried it, to get the chance to do so. It takes a different breed of person to go out and brave the cold, and stand on a frozen lake,or pond, and fish.

        Be safe and stay warm

Of course, as luck would have it, I got sick this weekend, and was in bed all weekend...Damn!! We did get out on Monday, I was feeling good enough to get out on the ice, you guys know how that goes. we could be on our death bed, and still get out fishing.

It's was worth the wait. what a day. just got the last tip-up in, and I pulled out a 3.5 lbs. large mouth. We ended the day with 3 bass, a 4 lb, the 3.5, and a 2.5lb. as well as 9 Pickrel(smallest 12 ins, biggest 23ins (2)) and about dozen flags, drops or lost.

great day, well worth the 2 year wait to get back on the ice. My buddy did get out with us. He didn't think we really caught fish! He thought we just hung out on the ice with the rest of the crazies.

Stay warm...will post pics as soon as I'm felling better.
