Does anyone know of a product that can take the hook out of a sharks mouth? im looking for something with some length so i can keep my hooks. any ideas would be great.

ARC dehooker. they come in many different lengths including longer ones for high gunwales and/or toothy critters. They work great on gut-hooked fish also. |

Is cutting the leader worth fighting all those teeth and strenth?
Hooks are cheep loosing a hand isn't .
If your worried about the hook left in the sharks mouth don't be it'll rust out and the shark will be good to go.
Don't be like that nut here in Florida who went into the water to let the shark go and got bit.

Better use a dehooker so you dont loose a didget (or a hand). |

Yup de hooking tool. Just remember if you choose to grab a shark. BE CAREFUL !! Use both hands and grab it by the tail and towards the business end. Grabbing a shark by the tail will end up being a painful lesson. A shark is the only fish i've ever caught that can fold it's self in half and it WILL take a present with it. |

If you are talking small sharks get a nice long pair of needle noses. Or cut it and just crimp a new hook on the leader. |

Probably one of the best things you can do if you intend to catch sharks. Debarb your hooks, yes you may lose some fish, but you will find it much easier to remove the hook with a 6' ARC Dehooker. Or, use plain steel hooks that will rust out in a short time, and cut the leader at the sharks mouth. Those are probably 2 of the safest ways to handle unhooking sharks. |

JUST CUT THE LEADER its much cheaper tthan surgery to put a finger back on. remember hooks are cheap compaired to fingers or worse. the hook will rust or fall out in a few days |
