I am not sure if this is the right forum but...  I am planng a trip to the Big Island with the family in June 2011 and would like to add a day fishing.  I have never fished for ocean warm water species before.  I was wondering if anyone knew a good charter captain and/or suggestions.  Any Q's in need to ask.  Thanks

I fished out of Kona a few years ago, we fished for Ono, and Mahi Mahi. Check the Hawaii thread.

Here is the Ono I caught I can't remember the charter service I used. But we went out first light for half a day. According to Hawaiin Law the fish caught on a fishing trip belong to the boat captain regardless of who caught it. So if you would like some fish to try clear that with the captain before you book the trip. Don't know what else to tell you but if you have questions feel free to asked.

You'll have a great time on the big island. We loved it. The big island has everything. We rented a house for a week and it was nicer and cheaper than staying in a motel, hotel.
