    Sorry if this is not classified at a pan fish i think it is im new to the forum but not new to fishing. So i was fishing this morning and when i hooked into what i thought was a monster Rock Bass. I let it go after tacking a nice pic of it not think any about it. Until i sent the pic to my good fishing buddy and that when he said that it might be a state record. The current state record it Vermont it 2# even I think this fish is at least over 2# by a little bit i no were the fish is i see it everyday not think much of it until now please help with size and possible weight.

    The Plano Box was 11" x 7-1/4" x 1-3/4" MODEL 3600

    Looks like a nice fish! do you have a photobucket account? if so just copy and paste the <br>[img][/img]<br> tags and it will show up. if not you can E-mail it to one of us and we can post it for ya.     If the tackle box is 11", I doudt the fish weighs 1#. If it was 15" or more you would be in the ballpark. Still nice fish if you like rock bass.

    i caught one about that size it was 10 inches and probaly 6 and half wide and it was a one pound even..... it would have to be atleast 14 inches to be 2 pounds probaly

    Around 14 inches and very thick will be close to 2# in weight.  I've caught my personal best rock bass at 14 inches.   I didn't have a fish weight scale at that time, but mine was kind of more elongated, than thick and fat.

    Still a 12 inches rock bass is a nice and very respectable size.  I typically only catch them under 7 inches, fat and stubby, big bulbous red eyes.

    Wow! That is one lunker rock bass...congrats!

    we got 40 rock bass like that sat.and sun.they put up a good fight.I got several with a wacky rigged 4 inch green worm
