this is a old post, i think they only reposted his quetion, cus if i remeber right we did post pix of whipers, striper and whites, in here at one time to compare them...
but i think some striper do respawn in lakes after being stock'd or atleast we have not stock'd a few lakes here in years and they still produce striper, i just think if they spawn they are more limited to LUCK of nature, for off spring, it's kinda like "NATIVE steelhead" they call um native cuz they were once stock'd and now reproduce in lakes naturly, or more pc, they use there lake as the ocean but still run the river to respawn.... so now they call um native? i don't know why? but they are born wild and not farmed....like striper can try to do, the succsess is limited for the strong to live or die, and anything will try to respawn even if conditions are not ideal, they will try... and if they are succsess full they can make a new breed too, like a white and a stripe = wiper
is a wiper a man made fish or freak of nature?
does anyone know for sure?(link me up!)
i think it can happen if whites are upstream and striper (or vise versa)down and both spawn some might mix naturaly.....making a mut wiper...
