Hey everyone, I was wondering if anyone had any info about how the stripers were doing on their migration. I fish around the Selkirk area but its a 2+ hour drive and you know about the gas prices, dont want to make a wasted trip. Thanks for any help.

I've heard they've caught a few up to the dam in Troy, but they weren't that big or that many.

I would hold off for a little bit - a week or two even.

Hey thanks for the reply, I was thinking that it was a little early because of the cooler weather.Ill sit tight and play near home for now. The salmon are running up the rivers near home so that will keep me busy for a while.

    Wetneck,

They look to be good up here now. I'm heading out tomorrow for some UL shad action and maybe some stripers if the herring are hitting the rigs.

I spoke with a buddy today and he said his son caught 18 stripers last week but no keepers. (In the Hudson River near Kingston)

Ok I went up to the Hudson river yesterday in Albany. There were alot of boats fishing in the river, but the bite is slow. A few stripers are being caught the biggest that I heard about was 27". There are some reports that there is some herring around as well. OBTW the striper was caught on an eel so I was told.

The stripers are hitting the herring is in. A buddy at work went tuesday fished around the port of Albany caught 4 the smallest was 28" the rest were above 32". They had many hits and runs that they didn't get a hook set. I should be out there this weekend but it ain't gonna happen.
