i've been hearing a lot about people using jigs or lures or swimbaits or something like that catching em and wanted to try but i dont know what to use? also i know stripers like it cooler so is it better to fish under a bridge or in nite, or cloudy

As far as artificial lures, bucktails with live herring work well down here in SC. If I'm fishin live bait i use large minnows or live herring, about 4". Normally, I either go at sun up or sun down, some of the overnight trips have been productive also. So yes, I think the less sun the better...
