We use a balloon. Float a minnow at nite. 8 to 2 in the morning.

Never heard of using a ballon with a minnow...that must a new thing. Maybe for land locked Stripers??? This is how we do it in the waters (ocean) around NYC. In the bays and back channels, find schools of bunker (menhaden). Then, with a weighted treble hook, try to snag them, and then live line the bunker just outside the school of bunker. Thats where the bass tend to hang around, waiting to pick off a straggler. Or if your good with a casting net...try to net bunker, then do the same thing...live line them with a 8/0 bait holder hook or circle hook. If your fishing from shore, go to a bait shop and buy bunker or clams and use that. Chunk the bunker and use a fish finder rig. Both these methods work and are proven, I fish Jamaica Bay from JFK to the Rockaways and to Coney Island on my Parker boat. If you need more info or help message me.
