Headed to the Lower Sac next month. I'm getting a guide but was curious if there is a good amount of shore access(if the flows are low enough to wade in) so maybe I could fish an extra day. I have a 5wt fly rod but I've read recomendations for a 7wt which seems a little heavy since I'm just fishing for rainbows. Also any tips on a good guide would be helpful.

You may be fishing for 'bows, but you might hook into that salmon...

I dont know what part you are talking about as the lower sac .There is some areas around redbluff and further up north around

Redding .And more up above shasta lake that can be fished from the bank .

And rite kmow the water is up high that might get in the way .
