I got my foot crushed at work and I'm not totally disabled. I found that I could prop myself up with my crutches and cast. My neighbor and I went Monday and he assisted me with the catch. When we arrived at the pond, I caught 3 nice sized bass right off. He wasn't having much luck, so we moved around the side. He started catching chubby 14 inch largemouths one right after the other. Then I caught two 20 inch plus that made his look like minnows and had three or four others hooked that I was unable to land. My best bass fishing day ever and it wouldn't have happened if it weren't for the accident; as I met the owner of the pond at the hospital and the subject of fishing came up.

I fish with a gal who can't walk long distances or stand for long periods, but she sure doesn't let it stop her! She just picks her spots carefully to avoid and long hikes and brings a folding chair. She usually outfishes most of the regulars on our local pond. Stay with it guys! Tom

I am NOT Handicaped at all but I do all I can to Help out those that are, especially Veterans...It's very upseting to me that the lakes and Ponds as well as River access in our area is NOT handicap Friendly....I've offered to clear away some brush from the shorelines  and make accessable docks for wheelchair fishing , and I an allways told, it's Not allowed or there is a Insurance Liability or some other Bologna...       I think every Fishing Hole should have a Handicap accessable area..........it's a Damn Shame

If anyone reading this is  handicaped and from the Norteast NY Catskill area and in need of a day out Fishing, by all means contact me and I will do everything I can to accomadate you....
