Army Corp set to poison six mile section of Illnois canal tonight at 7p.m. to try and take out the Asian carp. I hope it helps at keeping them out of the great lakes. these things are distructive monters.

I honestly believe that it is a losing battle and that the carp are going to get to the Great Lakes no matter what anyone does. Remember that this is a man made problem from any angle you look at it. The reason the fish are in the river is because some fish farmers brought them in to clean their ponds. When the Mississippi river flooded, the carp escaped the ponds to the river and have been moving upstream ever since. Also, the waterway connecting the Illinois river to Lake Michigan is a man made canal, not a natural waterway. The only ray of hope is that the Lake Mich. water may not be fertile enough to support these eating machines due to Zebra and Quagga mussels, another man made disaster! Keep your fingers crossed. Tom

2000 gallons of Rotenone and 1 asian carp to show for it last I heard. Should be more in the paper tommorrow. It is incredible the amount of misinformation that has made it to the news papers. Tom

Our nations gov should have said no. Just like the grass carp. Look at the problems its caused. Lest we forgeet all the other invasives. How they reached our fisheries. When was the last time you brought home a barrel of water from asia. Our gov needs to step in and stop all the ballests emptying in our lakes.

   What about the snakehead carp. Look at what is going on with it. Snakes invading Fla. All this crap for somebody to make millions. Yet not investigate the consiquences if it get in our lake and streams. Who has to pay for all the cleanup, Fisherpeople.
