You can see fish like this every year at the outfall from the Montezuma wildlife refuge. There are a bunch of videos on youtube taken there..... |

I see that every once in a while when I take the grandkids out to the marina and we throw popcorn out. It is very exciting for the youngest ones. |

From what I can see, it appears that they are trying to spawn. They often gather like that at that time, just not in such huge numbers. |

No spawning here. What it is, is a big tourist attraction on this lake in PA. People come and feed them bread almost everyday. Those fish arent stupid they know where the food is. Thier like trained now and yes they always do it. That pic is just a small part of them. Theres hundreds of them.

That lake is Pymatuning Lake. One side is in Ohio and the other in Pennsylvania. It's a great lake to fish. I seen some Amish guys pull a monster outta there one day! Have you ever seen the ducks walk on them? |

I still think they're spawning in the photo. |

They do spawn like this but thiers too many of them to be spawning. Spillway Concession: Where the "ducks walk on the fishes backs." 300,000 visitors come each year to feed the fish and view the wildlife in this area. Located two miles south of Lineville on the Hartstown Road, concession has refreshments, souvenirs, and fish food for sale. Generally open weekends mid-April to Memorial Day then seven days per week through Labor Day and weekends again in September. Although fish feeding and wildlife viewing is the main attraction, the scenery and sunsets are gorgeous on this causeway between the lake. For more information, contact the park office at 724-932-3142.. and thats off the website http://www.dcnr.state.pa.us/statepa...uning.aspx |

I’m surprised that there is enough oxygen in the water to have all those fish there at once. |

They certainly are. Most of the carps fight (at least I have observed) occurs after you've already landed the fish. The last one I caught thrashed around so much that my brand new coat got covered in slime. I still haven't gotten the scent out! |

carp do roll & swim like that when spawning but i have seen them school up like that when they are used to being fed especially in shallow water- i`ve seen them at my place on lake of the ozarks after just a few days of baiting a place for fishing there would be 15 to 20 in a small place close to shore less than 1 foot deep-these guys run from 10 to 15 lb they are lots of fun |
