if you can see them, then you just have to keep casting out (corn) to them and try agitating them into biting

The big thing to remember is as AZAllen said the Koi is nothing more than a fancy Carp your not gonna make them mad and get them to bite out of aggression you have to apeal to their appetite. First you want to check if chumming is legal in your state. If it is go grab a bag of field corn from your local feed store. Fill a 5gal bucket 2/3 the way full then soak it in water for 24hrs. Then boil it for about 30 minutes after the boil you can add flavors Vanilla works well. I go and use a spod to put the chum in a small area to get the fish to feed where you want them to. If you can do this every couple days the week before you intend to fish. I usualy bait mon, wed, and fri then fish Saturday and Sunday. Baiting like that will get the fish feeding in your swim. When you fish get a tub of old fashioned oatmeal a can of cream corn and a can of sweet corn and mix them in a bucket. Set your rig up with a slip sinker and a #6 or 8 hook you can put the sweet corn directly on the hook or you can tie a hair rig and use some of the field corn rigged on the hair. Another good thing is to use a small piece of dense foam on the hair to float your hook just off the bottom. Get a handful of the oatmeal and pack it around your sinker and cast it out. The oatmeal will slowly break down on the bottom and make a small pile of chum with your hook bait in the middle. That bait has landed me literaly thousands of carp still yet to manage a Koi.

    Good luck
