I'll be going do to Ocean Lakes in 6 weeks on a family vacation.  This place has several freshwater ponds that hold mostly panfish.  I'm looking for a good travel rod and reel that takes up minimal space b/c we have so many people going in only 2 cars.  Any information will be helpful.
    Thanks

I think I have the perfect ultra light combo for you http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/s...00_100-3-0

Let me know what you think, and good luck with your search.

My daughter-In-Law gave me a great Zebco travel rod and reel, unfortunatly, I think she recieved it as a prize in a contest at work. I have seen similar setups in the BPS and Cabela's catalouges. Tom

bassbum, that is one of the two combos I was looking at.  Have you ever used anything equipment from daiwa?  The other combo I was looking at the Shakespeare® Excursion on cabela's website.

I actually bought a brand new(still in plastic) spinning combo by Daiwa from a yard sale. I've never had a problem with it. I've had it about a year now. I do want to check out the one on the link. Seems easy. Let me know if you choose that one. I wouldn't mind getting one myself if it's worth it.
