I like ugly sticks not because I think they are the best but because I don't baby my rods and I want something that will hold up and not cost and arm and a leg. When it comes to a reel I'm as fussy. Except I don't want the bottom end of the brand. I've got Mitchell, Daiwa, Cabela's, Okuma, Pflueger, shakespear, to name a few I mainly use tackle bags. I just need to find someone to carry it for me.

Rods: StCroix, Shakespeare(saltwater/heavy freshwater) and I am fond of my first rod, a Silstar graphite composite rod my parents gave me for my twelfth birthday in '87 that I have caught hundreds of different fish on and still catch fish with. Reels: Pflueger and I also like my Shakespeare Dimension that's nearly identical to my Pflueger President. Tackle boxes: Plano. |

Wow! Never thought this thread would become this popular. I've been off the forums for a while, so I haven't really kept updated on everything. HAPPY NEW YEAR, EVERYONE! |

Hmm, I think my favorite over the years has been a rod made up of the center section of an old fly rod and the tip section of a damaged UL rod. The reel I used was a mitchel 308 and later I also used a quick 110, both European made. |
