This is my favorite for heavier applications...trolling, Live lining and when fishing for bulldogs..Blackfish. Quantum Cabo CNW 20.

Since I've already posted pics of my catfish rigs...how about my bass rig? Well, ok, my favorite is a three way tie!

This first one is Ol' Reliable, a Pflueger President 6.4:1 on a Fenwick HMX 7ft. MH fast tip rod. Spinnerbaits are this ones game.
                                                                                                                                                                     Photobucket

Next up, A Quantum Smoke Combo. 6.3:1 gearing and a 7ft. medium action rod, this one is in charge of crankbaits.

    Photobucket

Last, but not least, we have a Lew's Speed Spool 5.4:1 on an All Star Big Boy 6'10" heavy action rod. Soft plastic duty here.

    Photobucket

    Hey Barresi...quit sloberin'!   LOL!
Ashes to ashes, dust to dust, if it wasn't for my super smooth carbon drag, my 30 year old Trilene would bust!

Hey '151, for the record, I never had anything near as nice as that Guide Series baitcaster when I was your age. And you got it yourself...that's something to be proud of!

Don't need to be a lefty to have the handle on that side. I am a born right-hander and all my spinning gear (all 12 setups) is set up this way.  ( dont use baitcasters at all)
Set up this way is easier to cast, and accurately, and to handle the rod and fish . The dominant right hand and arm are doing all the heavy work. The right hand never has to change grip on the rod. All the left hand has to do is reel in.

I don't think psg was referring to the spinning reel...he's saying the baitcasters are backwards...to him.SmileyCentral.com

That's how its supposed to be. Baitcasters and levelwind reels, you reel with your right hand and spinning reels with your left hand. If your right handed. The reasoning is if right handed, your strength is in your right hand to reel in a fish on a traditional reel, and one a spinning reel, your strength is your right arm/hand to set the hook.

All the bait casters i see have the wind on the RIGHT hand side, I tried my friends bait caster that had the wind on the LEFT side and i liked it better

Yes I'm Right handed, I just find it easier to cast right handed and reel left handed!! It's also easier to get a strong hook set, setting the hook w/ the right hand!!!! and I don't have to change hands after I cast!!! JMHO!! on the matter

My trusty CU201.  I bought this Shimano Curado when I was in high school.  It's been on a first generation BPS Pro Qualifier since.  It took a bunch of paychecks from my part time after school job to buy it.  I put a new handle on it this spring because I broke one of the grips off.  It pops and clicks and grinds a little but it hasn't failed me yet.  I pull it apart every year and clean it up, lube and grease it.  I mainly use it for soft plastics.  If I am not on the boat and only fishing with one rod and reel, this is usually it.

Good things come to those who bait... Hoss in Wa
