well yall are gonnna thing im dumb for asking this and i probably should know this, but every body talks about a leader and i have no clue what that is ... inform me pleaseee !!!!!!!!  as always -God Bless..   

A leader is the piece of line that connects from your swivel to your hook or refers to the type of line you tie to your "main line." That area of line is referred to as a leader. It will vary in length and material depending on your fishing conditions. If you hear about pike fisherman using a steel leader, that is line that is much stronger, since pike have teeth and could bite though normal lines such as monofilament, braided, or fluorocarbon. Or, if you don't want the fish to see your line, use a leader made of fluorocarbon since it is almost invisible to the fish which is actually the purpose of using a leader.

If you get that braid you were looking into...you'll need one of these fluoro or mono leaders...and the best knot to join the two lines is the uni to uni knot. There are a gazillion videos on you tube showing how to tie it. Good luck!
