caught a few turtles over the years....most of the time it's either a mud er a painter turtle

I caught an 18 pound soft shell while catfishing in Florida once.

When the turtles start to bite like crazy, I pack up my catfishing gear...lol.

I've caught (and eaten) softshell turtles in Imperial County, CA. These were in canals and drains and probobly originated in the Colorado River.
NAFC, NAHC, NRA, SASS, Viet Nam Vet. Bullhead City, AZ

Soft shells are great eating turtles, every bit as good as snappers.
