Are we talkin no fishing liscence needed young or in high school young? Im 14, do I count as "young"?

Skewl---Yeppers, I would say you fit the the subject just fine!! I am not sure but I think That all ages up to 18 or 19 was established as the age spread. Well I don't think I count for this tread anymore. I just turned 16 march 4, 2010 so yeah Happy Birthday to me. but yeah I am glad to see so many young fishermans and fisherwomens on this site. God Bless.

BW1-- Happy belated Birthday! Don't be in a big rush to get to the "old guy" bracket. It'll come soon enough and then you will be wishing for sweet sixteen again. There are several 18 and 19 year olds that drop in here now and again. Even me at my ever so young age of 74 but most of the time I act like a 16 yr old! LOL. Enjoy yourself while you can. Bill J.

my opinion on the young anglers should end around the age 21
and good luck for the really young ones like 7-8 years of age
 im about to turn 16 means licence for me= more fishing trips

the hope of this thread is that are youth will use it to learn , share stories, share tips ,share ideas , ask questions and make new friends.

i miss some of my old friends like Dustin and Dave they were about your age .



I started my grandson when he was 1 1/2 years old buy age 3 he could cast a spin cast Farly well on his own now he just turned 7 and I got him using an open face reel.

In reading some of the remarks in other forums I was wondering what was the purpose of Young Anglers.  Without intentionally getting away from its original note maybe this would be a good place for young anglers to ask questions about fishing or other problems they are having at home or in school.  A lot of them get little support at home.  Maybe, we could check this forum more often and offer our thoughts and ideas to questions young anglers may have.  I have not been a member very long but am more than willing to help some of these young anglers--kind of like a big brother, etc.  I would love to hear some other ideas on this idea.  Maybe, I am off in left field.  Thanks!  Uncle Tom

I would say that 18 or somewhere between 18 and 21 might be a good "crossover" age. Since you can join the military at 18, you are definately "growing up" then.

I'd say up to age 16 would fit in the "Young Angler" category.
