I haven't seen anything new on here for months. Is anyone fishing? Anyone fishing in the morning? The afternon? At night? Any luck? I'm heading out next wekend, so I will keep you posted(as long as the site lets me on). Hopefully others are getting a chance to fish.

We're fishing in the great Northwest.  I'm in western Oregon and fishing Steelhead quite a bit for the next few months.  We'll be getting after Spring Chinook and Sturgeon soon on the big rivers and start looking at some of the lakes around pretty soon.

One bad thing about living out in the boondocks is that the
county roads are muddier than the bottom of the lake.
But as soon as they dry I will be fishing for catfish at my
    favorite place.

I was out 2 weeks ago. A cold front rolled in 2 days later and the fish knew it was coming. We caught nothing and didn't see anyone else catch anything either. Everyone we talked to said they were skunked too.

Some very nice Crappie were being caught on Harry S. Truman Res. at Warsaw, Mo. through the ice. The ice just finished melting away on Friday 2/18/11 and many boat ramps opened up. I expect many boats to go out on the water this weekend

The bride and I wet a few worms yesterday and today. However, the fish won again.
No body caught anything. Not even the crabs were stealing the bait. Maybe later
this week it will be better, but not so far.

Went to a local low land lake today to fish. 5 inches of snow and ice on ramp. Went to frends house next to ramp, drank a 5th of Black Velvet and BSed all day and came home at 10pm after I sobered up. Great day.

Sounds like most of you had the same luck I did. I went out friday morning to a local, stocked, trout stream. I made a few casts here and there until I finally came across a deep hole just past shallow rocks. I threw about everything that I thought would catch trout, nothing. After about 45 minutes I left. I then went to my honey hole for huge bluegill(# plus most fish). I got a few hits deep, but no fish. Hopefully next weekend will be better.
    Good luck everyone!

They are sure not over here on the east end of Texas Jesse. Maybe in
Louisiana, but not here. No one is catching anything around here this past few weeks.

I went out Friday 2/18 on Lake Wylie (SC). Water is still a chilly 45 degrees, but managed 1 bass on a jig. Saw a few patrolling the shallows but couldn't pick them up. Soon, very soon (hopefully!

    Dan,
These fish are all natives and must be released.  Hatchery raised fish will have the adipose fin clipped off which means we can keep them.  This river has no clipped fish, which really keeps the crowds to a minimum.  They are a great fish to eat and we do keep fish from other rivers.  Even if the hatchery misses clipping a fish, you can't keep them if the adipose is in tact.
    JustDave

PS.  The native fish are generally bigger with quite a bit more spunk.

Have been fishing a community lake in my home town in Kansas. Ice just left last week. Been fishing off a dock, and since Sunday have caught 59 bass using tube jigs.
Fish have ranged from 10" to 17". Thought I* could maybe find some crappie, but just bass so far. Sure has been fun, but cold. This morning it was 21 degrees and I caught 9.
Gave up because my hands were cold even with gloves on.

    Hello all;

Well, Jesse and I finally met and did some fishing this morning. The score was the same for me, fish 1, me 0, but Jesse caught a couple of nice cats. First was a nice 14 incher, and he says he caught a nice 15 1/2 incher 'after' I left! LOL.

It was really nice fishing this morning. Fresh water, too. Just a bit different for me. Jesse was a great host, and we talked and fished until it was time for me to leave to come back to Orange, a 5 hour drive from San Antonio! Jesse stayed until late...at least he says! LOL

Thanks Jesse for the great time and new to me fishing site!

Hope to be able to do it again sometime soon,

Stupidity is no excuse. I see the Sheriff on the river here at least once a year.
they are checking for all safety equipment, jackets, throw cousion, fire exting, noise maker, flares. And all kids must be in a life jacket.
If you don't have the stuff you go to the ramp and get a ticket. Makes for a short day of fishing.

    Hi All,
My fishing buddy and I went out yesterday to a place called "Beaver Bay" on the Missouri River. The river is open but the boat ramps are still iced. There is some open water to the side of the ramp area. spent approx 45 minuets casting Raps with one strike but no real hook ups. Water is approx 43 Deg. Guess we'll have to wait a little longer for ice out.

I just started fishing for bass again this year. Caught 4 so far in a total of about an hour and a half. Nothing over 2 1/2 pounds.
JR BACO: how far from Cincy? I live in northern Ky. About a 5 minute drive to downtown.

The weekend of 4-1/2-11 my partner and I caught 2 largemouth, 1 smallmouth, 2 yellow bass, 7 channel cats from 4 to 8 pounds, and at least 75 bluegills at Canyon Lake. Caught the gills on ultra light spinning (Danny) and a 5/6 weight fly rod (me). Great trip!

Went out last Thursday on Lake Moultrie and my son and i caught 2 large channel cats, 3 really nice crappie and a few decent yellow perch. We had to fish the canal, cause the lake was to rough.

Steelhead are still coming into the rivers.  Picked up a nice pair this morning.  I would post pics, but photobucket is down for site maintenance.  Both were caught with jigs I tie and on a rod I built.  Just need to build the reel and spin the line for a complete setup.

Bass seem to really be heating up around here. Surprisingly top water baits have been the best producers so far.
