How many lifers are still here? I see a few names, but mostly nobody is here. It doesn't surprise me though. Lack of content, lack of members! Good.......Not from me! |

I"m here but not very active. Just seems like I have other thing to do. I didn't join to get freebees, to tell you the truth i don't know why i became a life member. I have met a few neet guys on here and have met up with one and fished with him. But other than that not too excited. I don't know what I expected so I can't say I am disapointed. |

I am still here, but when on this site mostly just go to the chat room. Some great guys there! Like you lowwater, I didn't join because of the freebies. I became a lifer because it was simpler than renewing every year. At that time, the site was hopping, and the chat room had lots of folks in it. Then they started to 'improve' the site, and it has been mostly downhill since. Of course, if I spent more time in the forums and actually made posts every so often, I would probably get more out of the club. I guess the old saying "You gotta go calling if you want to get results" is true. I have certainly met a bunch of good guys in the chat room, and some others in the forums. I am sure that if I were to go through their towns, I would be welcomed with open arms like long time friends. I have only met with one other member in person, and he is a great guy! I am about to meet up with another one in the next couple of weeks. We will try to wet a line or two then. Thanks for starting this thread. Tight lines, Salty Dan |

Lifer since '94 and still around after all of the "Improvements". I guess I just have more patience than a lot of others. I post if I have something to say, read posts that the subject interests me. I have met and fished with quite a few members and look forward to meeting others.

Hey Bassbum where have you been? Seems you drift in for a while and then disappear for months at a time! I'm usually here for at least a quick visit every day, the thought being that I paid for my membership and might as well use it. |

I'm not sure if it my PC or the site, but I havent been around much because it takes forever to view a topic. Takes even longer for me to even get on the forums. I'd say it's my computer, but thats why I'm not here very often. Good to see some familiar names though. AZ, JD, SC,and Tom. How have you been Tom? It's been a while. Hope all is good. |

I've been a lifer since June 1989. Usually don't chat much; but I will share info from time to time. I'm on about once or twice a week. Good fishn' to all and may the new year be a "trophy" one. Ron Johnson, MN |

I'm still visiting,.. but not anywhere near as much as I used to,..work,.. life changes (IE: divorce and relocating) have consumed much of my time. I'm mainly a big water fisherman who targets salmon , trout, steel) and do not find many here anymore who fish that style,.. too many bass fisherman , not that there's anything wrong with that as we are all fisherman of one tye or another here. I just enjoy being out on the water or hunting in the woods more than coming online. Winter is now here so I'm back for a while,..I don't do hard water fishing much anymore either,.. just isn't in my blood like it once was,.. |

Someone had made about a 4 foot hole though the ice(with rocks I'm guessing). So I casted my line into the hole for about an hour with no luck. |

I don't spend very much time on a PC but I try to look in once in a while. The old BB was easy to use and I didn't have any computer issues getting in to it. Also I was disappointed when my 2000+ post count got reset to zero. Such is life. A couple of years ago I thought the BB had disappeared because the file link crashed every time I tried to access the website. I still like to fly fish but I'm not getting in the fishing time I should to keep my skills sharp. I didn't make resolutions for the new year but I intend to get in a lot more fishing time and continue to ride a motorcycle to my favorite fishing holes. later-------JCT |

Hey bassbum, Have you tried using Mozilla Firefox instead of Internet Explorer? It will make a big difference in speed when using this site. For almost the first year I was a member, I never came in here. Then I read a post that said to try Firefox...If you wanna hang out in here its a must.

Maybe I'm reading into this too much, maybe not...So if I'm interested in "Real FISHING", check out the "OLD TIMERS"? Really?? As opposed to fake fishing? I don't get you so called "old timers" that complain about how the forums aren't the same any more..Times have changed, just as fishing has changed. Sorry if your unable to adapt, but please.... Give us who frequent the forums and who are chat every morning a break! |

That is exactly what I do...everyday...race to answer new posts...and I'm pretty sure we're talkin' about "real fishing" now just as you were then. Maybe you should check more than just your topics. Maybe the old timers should also quit reminding the new members how what we have here now isn't as good as it used to be...whether its true or not. Maybe more new members might hang out if they saw a more positive attitude from the old timers. Something to think about... |

Point well taken MO and Barresi! Fishing is just as real today as it was 'back in the day'. As you say, times change. Personal interests change. The forum changes. Music changes. We either get 'Stuck in the 50s' or we move forward. BUT; Bill Dance is always the same! Tight lines, Salty Dan |

Give us who frequent the forums and who are chat every morning a break! First off I would like to say a BIG thank you to you and everyone else who is keeping this BB "alive" so to speak, taking the time day in and day out to jump all over the BB to reply , help , or just chat with fellow members. Posting new topic's and such to keep a intrest in the BB........... WELL DONE !!!! I know it's not always easy but you get a feeling of ownership as well you should and that explained why you posted as you did and I feel your pain. That said >>>>> Yes I think you are reading way to much into what R T posted IMHO. The reel fishing he was refering to is in REAL time at said meet nothing more nothing less. Attentending ANY members meet is a real treat I hope everyone that comes on this BB has a chance to do. About the complaining I guess I'm as quilty as any OLD TIMER , some what old timer anyone who had the pleasure of being on the a BB a few years ago. I guess we ALL feel the same way about that BB as you do this one. I for one think its time I let go of a OLD freind that's NOT coming back no matter how many of us wish or complain of it's passing. I hope to meet you and many more NAFC BB members in real time in the real world in person. Ed |

OLDTIMER
I've been here for about 7 years. Erabbit it something right on the head and that is to try to make a member meet. You haven't experienced all a member can until you attend one of the member meets. I've had the fortune of going to several met some great people and had some great fishing. |

Have been a life member for a couple of years. I come up often to see what others have to say but don't usually have a lot to say myself. The only fish I put back are the ones that I can't legally keep. I do pretty good most of the time. I have more rods and reels than I can use so I'm not interested in getting more. I have a tackle box set up for each type of fishing I do so I don't have to lug a lot of stuff around. Sold my boat several years ago so most of my fishing is inshore. Good fishing to everyone and God Bless! |

I guess I fall into that "ole timers" bracket. Barresi, the complaint isn't about the ugrades to this site or to how fishing has changed over the years, but rather how this site used to work compared to now. I have been away for some time now and I have decided to to be more active no matter how hard it is. I gotta say tho, you have a lot of catching up ta do to match my posts and articles! But like Erabbit says, the real happening is when members get together at a meet, nothing better! Ole RodTender is a sweet heart and puts on a very good member meet, as well as Erabbit! This club has a lot to offer and as long as the site can run half decient then we'll have a place to meet and enjoy each other. I look forward to discussing fishing with all the members reguardless of how young (timers) they are! LOL! |

Been a life member for 4-5 years now. Never gave a thought to the date until one of the site upgrades lost all that info! Like some of the old timers, I'm not against progress. it's just that when they set out to "improve" and add a bunch of features of limited value and the site performance drops off to the point that some members can't even use the site because of connection issues you need to wonder. The site speed has improved marginally of late but is still not where it was when I first joined. I also find that entering through Firefox is better than IE. Cuts down on drops, errors and speeds things up quite a bit. Too bad I don't like the way Firefox handles my mail or I would leave IE completely. The way it stands, I have to toggle back and forth. |

I was a Charter member in '88 but let it lapse and rejoined later down the line, I then signed up for Life Membership so I don't have to remember to renew ever again. I will probably be a Trophy member the next time they send the invite. One question, How do I get the life member symbol into my avatar!! Thanks, Jeff |

Became a lifr back in '91...had life ins and promises of testing...have received one test product and it was fishhooks......quit getting premium invoices for my insurance a couple of yrs later and was promised they sould contact me....Still waiting...LOL. Guess all that money was lost. Just tried to reenroll for product testing and the page just loops back on itself when you click on the submit button. guess I should have put my money into BASS life membership. This money was pissed away. |

I got some trinkets and beads once. I traded Manhatten for them! LOL I got some hooks and some bobber lites that were impossible to see since they were so old and small. Other than that, nada. Glad I didn't join for the testing and free give-aways! Tight lines, Salty Dan |

I have been a life member, since 4/5/1989. Have been gone for a couple of years. Due to health problems. After bypas surgery. I am once more, up and around. This sight, has changed a lot, since I was last here. But, I do remember, some of the names on here. Bassbum, was trying to set up, a get together, just as I was having problems. Do not know, if that ever happend. I no longer fish alone, as it is to hard for me. My oldest son takes me fishing, when he can. Other than that, I no longer do much fishing. I will be on here, reading what others are doing though. |

Hey Sam Bush, welcome back! I sure do hope your health stays on the good side and your able to get out fishing more often. I was away for about a year also, not because of health issues but because of how the site has been operating (enough said). Most of the folks you used to see regularly are no longer posting but still stop in once in a while. I look forward to seeing your posts! |

I know a couple of the guys will remember me. How are you Pete? I guess that I am one of the old timmers as well. I don't know how many changes this site has gone through, but it is still not very fast. Although it ihas been improved some. Does anyone ever hear from Skycop? I haven't heard from him in quite some time. Of course hes hasn't heard from me either. I am going to spend a little more time here. I remember some days when if not for the people on here I would have had a much harder time when life handed me a big crap sandwitch. I still continue to thank God for these people. It was the possibility of finding someone to talk fishing with that brought me here the first time. Now let it be the many friends that I have made over the years. |

Good to see you on here nelson. Don't be a stranger and jump in any time. It's the old timer's that keeps this thing going. I wish more of the old timers would return. |

Welcom Larry! It certainly has been a long time. I have very fond memories of the times we spent together...It sure would be nice to wet a line together, tell lies and talk about all that has happened over the many years! I have come back also, mostly to help pump some life into this website...I do really miss a lot of the folks that used to be regulars here. I'll look for your posts and keep an eye out for ya in the chat room, but what ever you do don't pay any attention to that wellsley fella! |

Hi all of you "Lifers" out there. This is another Larry Nelson AKA" lowwater". I am not on much any more but I lurk now and then. This is the time of the year that I am riding a "Deere" trying to get 650 acres of spuds in the ground if it's not raining. 55 down 600 to go. Reds and Yukons. I will do my best to post now and then and give a weather report from this far outpost in the Northwest corner of the lower 48. Low land lakes opened today here. I couldn't go out and haven't heard a report. But the opening is allmost allways a zoo. Tight lines and a full limit to all. |

hello to my fellow lifers I'm cyberfish. I live in northern California. In marysville that is about 45 minutes north of sacramento i have many different ways to fish all within 1 hrs. drive ( 3 rivers,4 lakes , many dredger ponds left over from the gold rush days, just to mention a few ways) i consider this area pretty special as i can fish for largemouth, smallmouth, stripers, sturegon, trout(macks, steelhead, rainbow, brook) salmon both chinook and landlocked, shad, catfish, bluegills, crappie and may more. plus I'm only about 2 hrs from S.F. so theres a whole new assortment of fishing to do. I think I am in MY personal fish heaven here tight lines to you all !!!! |

I have seen a bass attack a minnow and it is so fast you almost can't see it happen. I witnessed the same speed and ravenous feeding when the pie hit the table at the meet where Pete was. And, not a crumb hit the ground. It was the most enjoyable time. Should have had a camera. |

I'm back..Been away for a while with in-law health issues and then the end doing what takes just about all free time away and makes a person forget who he is and what he's doing...Long story short..I'm here and it's nice to try to catch up with other members. In the winter time we now head for Casa Grande AZ with a 5th wheel and stay there for 5 or 6 months and not much fishing in the desert, but it's nice and we like it..Those of you who know of my side line business, it's temporally on hold right now and time will tell if I start it up again. Although I have helped out a couple guys with special orders just to keep it alive for a while. Nice to be back, George aka deadlystreamer |

Well, yes I am a Lifer. But it is hard to split time between fishing and posting. Was on the water today. One of the nicest days so far this year. 70 degrees and sun. Just seems I don't have the time to be on the computer all day. Jake the Jack Russel demands my time too and he loves the boat. He's ok as a deck hand but gets careless and goes for a swim now and then. Getting ready for the first opening ever on the Skagit River for Sockeye Salmon on the 16th. Don't have a clue how to catch them here in the lower river, but will learn or get skunked. Good night all. |

watched a guy sitting next to me catch a pike on a night crawler fishing on the bottom of about 30 feet of water.saw the same guy catch a pike in 5 feet of water by a boat dock with a dead minnow on a bobber. He is one lucky son of a gun,I'd say. |
