It could be my extreme OCD, but I everything ridiculously organized. I have so many different boxes for everything. Plastic worms in one box, cranks in another. Top water in one, and crappie jig box. My buddies say I'm a dork, but when they need something, it's so easy to get to. And yes my hooks are sorted by size in a box....

My boxes use to be a mess, tangled hooks on my crankbaits, what a pain. Then I bought a bunch of Falcon Tackle Organizer boxes problem solved no more tangled hooks. Check em out thier great.

Hitting the water and messing up your organized tackle box is a good reason to have a major reorganization session. that in itself is fun in my opinion. I am attempting to go the way Harry has and sort everything in seperate boxes. IE all my plastics in one, spinnerbaits in another. Problem is that I tend to want to be take items out and build a trip specific box.

I have numerous boxes I keep tackle for different types of fishing in. In the summer at my C.G. O use a lot of rubber baits and lures I keep them separated by type and color. The for spring fishing I have one box for steelhead fishing and one for perch fishing in the chanels and sucker fishing. The for the winter I keep my ice fishing tackle in a separate boxes also. One with jigs and tails and one with other jigging lures, treble hooks, and sinkers. Then I also have a couple other boxes for stuff I don't use very often and extra tackle that I purchase when on sale. I also tie my own perch rigs and crawler harnesses and have a box with the beads and spinners I need for that. Oh yeah I also have a box with a kit to tie spawn for steelhead and salmon fishing. It may sound anal buy I like to be able to grab a box and go without the fear of not finding what I need when I need it.

I keep all my boxes in my boat in the tackle compartment, each box has a diffrent type of lure in it ie lizzards in one, crankbaits in another and so forth, and I lable each box so at a glance I know what's in each box, so if I need a new hook I grab the hook box instead of serching thru all my boxes trying to figure out which box has the hooks. Just make it easier for me in a tournament setting.

I don't have enough tackle to warrant separate boxes for each type, but I have organised as much as possible. I have four boxes, hooks, terminal stuff, soft baits, hard baits. Then I just subscribed to Bassmaster and got the free tackle bag that use for line. I'd like to separate them out more, but then I'd have half empty boxes and I'd get yelled for buying more stuff that I haven't used yet just to fill empty boxes! Time, I'll be just has OCD, already am, just haven't applied to tackle yet.

I just put treble covers on my crankbaits to clean up the tangle mess, anybody else use them?

James you need a wife that fishes too. I never get yelled at for buying more lures. I get yelled at if I don't buy 2 of each. And you know why! If I only have one and I'm catching fish she takes it from me. I;m a fast learner.

Harry, she does fish, but unfortunately (for me) she only needs a 1/16 jig and a Gulp red wiggler to catch bluegills. She's already swiped my Shakespeare ultralight!
