Hey all.  last night I came across an Idea that might be useful. If you are in need of a good light for fishing and are fishing from shore or need a new alternative in your boat you may want to try this.  I found a light on www.meritline.com that is designed to be mounted onto the bars on a bycycle. This can be easily mounted on the grip of you fishing rod or with a bit of shimming onto your blank. I have not field tested this yet but it seems to function pretty well for hands free tying on a hook or dehooking a fish. I could not find the model on their website anymore but i imagine that you could use pretty much any of these type. They also have alot of other light options for cheap including headbands. I originally bought half a dozen of these lights for a couple of bucks each with free shipping.

Sounds like a good idea to me!  I have been an avid duck hunter for since my early teen years.  Fortunate enough to guide on one of the best Commercial shooting preserves in the South, "Dorchester Shooting Preserve".  Enjoy watching other people enjoy themselves.  One of the guests gave me a little light that attached to brim of my cap.  It wasn't long before I started using it in the boat.  Also, have used those little inexpensive battery operated closet lights that you just bump and it comes on.
Its like one of those cheap digital clocks that also has light in it.  Just stick it up and when its gone buy another.  Best deal may be those throw away glow sticks from halloween (if you ain't scared of goblins)--they are really cheap after halloween is over.  Those little propane heaters give off some light and lots of heat.  My Dad puts several granite rocks on top to put in his pocket to keep his hands warm.  If you fish with him, he let you use one of the rocks but you have to pay $1.00 to get a second one.  He grew up in the depression and can't help making a dollar.  Uncle Tom Don't tell on me!
I built my own lure company as a young man--thus the name UncleTomsJigs. It grew so well I decided to give it up and go fishing with family, friends and especially grand children. I became disabled as a United Methodist Pastor IN 2002 and retired here in Coastal Georgia on a 10 acre lake where I continue to fish despite my disabilities. My wonderful wife and I enjoy fishing together. God has blessed us in so many ways and we pray the same for you. I am excited about having so many new friends all over this great country.
