This is a quick, and easy fix for a broken eye on your rod. Place the eye back on the rod in the spot that you want it. Hold it in place, and wrap fishing line through the eye and around the rod until you can keep the eye in place without holding it. After that borrow some of your wifes nail polish. Paint the wraped fishing line with the nail polish, and let dry. The nail polish gives the eye a little more strength once dry.

I'm sure many of you know this trick, but I figured I'd post it for anyone who didn't know it yet. Take care.

I'll have to try that trick next time one brakes.  Don't know where I'd get the nail polish from though!

Last time I tried I didn't have to pass a gender test to buy nail polish at the local Wal-Mart! Tom

Good tip bassbum. If you guys are not sure about buying nail polish then just throw it in the cart with all the other unmentionables that your wife sends you to the store to pick up. I wonder if CA adhesive would work for this? every anglers tackle box should include a bottle of super glue. works wonders on knots.

That clear polish lasts the life of a jig hook, too. The next time you mix up a rear view window mirror glue kit use the left over on that repaired rod tip. It lasts longer than nail polish. I've been coating rod guide windings on really old glass rods, every wind still intact, and going strong.

A good place to get inexpensive nail polish is the" dollar store" type of stores.

When I was out in California...I could always count on the Long's Drug Stores to have a sale on a brand called Wet'N Wild

    $.99 a bottle

Walgreen's also has occassional sales on polish
