Does anyone have an easy way of learning to tie knots. I have just got back into fishing and would like to learn how to tie some knots. I tried the arbor knot while spooling my reel and was so frustrated. I think I finally tied it correctly but find it very difficult.

find a freind who can tie knots and have them help you , also find a good book on knots and practice practice practice. most of all DON't get frustrated if you do put it down and walk away, then come back later and try again it will come to you. tight lines to ya !!!!

Try Youtube. There's just about every fishing knot on there. Most videos are high quality and the good thing is you can pause, rewind or just start over. But most important is to practice. Practice until you can tie a knot in the dark.

I hear ya bcain1...that arbor knot always gives me fits too. Like cyberfish and Barresi say...
PRACTICE!
All the finest tackle can't help you land big fish if your knot fails!
Ashes to ashes, dust to dust, if it wasn't for my super smooth carbon drag, my 30 year old Trilene would bust!

I practice on a peice of rope or practice on larger diameter fishing lines.

There is an app called "knot wars" ... In fact, it's sponsored by the NAFC!
