Well, I will start the 2009 Meeet thread with a simple post for now.  The meet is open to anyone who likes to fish and would enjoy the space in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.  The meet will be held from Jun 13 to Jun 20, 09.  This will include a "Free Fishing Week-end" which will ease the cost somewhat of any of you who are out of state and decide to make an appearance.  I will post information on lodging as soon as I can, but it seems right now that we MAY be looking at Northern Lights Resort.  Their web site is: nllr.com  I believe but will double check to be sure.

And I'll bet a great time will be had by all that attend.  Been a crazy year down this way.  Pam's Mom passed away in May and then we went on a 3300 mile drive to New York and Rhode Island.  Just maybe we can make it back to Michigan next year.  Hope all is well with everyone.  Paul and Pam

Hey all; it's looking like Northern Lights will be the best bet so far to me. I'd prefer to be on the water also but things don't look good. We can defray the higher cost of our stay if we can get some members to group together a share the rates. I'm trying to get my son Jonathan to commit but havent heard from in since my visit to Michigan. Still waiting; but your welcome to join us Mike and Jim if you care to. Still a long way off; but never too soon to commit...Dennis/Papa_d Baseball Head"Go Brewers"...

    Pappy:

Read my e-mail to you & then decide!  If, in fact Northern Lights is going to be the place, the I would think cabin 6 would be better for EVERYONE.  It sleeps eight & would break down to $20 a night per person.  That could include Jim, Mike and Chuck as well.

Well I guess it looks like either Northern Lights or Queens.  Pappy sent me an e-mail and stated that Northern Lights is offering a discount for NAFC Members who stay there but did not say how much????? From what Pappy quoted it IS NOT WHAT I HAVE IN TYPE FROM HIM for the cabin Pappy told me about.

I have send Chuck, Larry, Pappy, Pillman and Mike quote sheets from Norhern Lights.  I have only heard from Pappy regarding this.  As of now the response for next year's meet does not seem to be very favorable.  Don't know what else I can do on this end.  I gave you the information I could get, and it is in your ball parks.  Next year's meet is up to you guys.

Hey, hey, hey...I've decided not to commit to Northern Lights since Jim's remark about the Cozy Cabins. This is the first I heard about any contact with them. Is it possable for our group to meet there? I have no problem to staying there and will still need one cabin for my family. If anyone can confirm this let me know asap. I like the idea of us all being together and this way Mike can have his boat on the water there as he wants to do. I'm looking forward to our meeting's to continue without them desolving away. If theres anything I can do Doc; let me know. I have no problem with more people to the cabin  than just my family. After all, This is a member meet and the more the marrier. Do I need to contact Cozy Cabins myself??? If so; please send me the info on doing so. Dennis/Papa_d

Attention all interested members...Just talked to Doc on the phone. We need some plans started here concerning the 2009 Meet at Gwinn. Cozy Cabins are now up for grab and at a more than fair cost. $450.00 for a full week per cabin which sleeps 5 people. These cabins are right on the lake making accessability perfect for all. Boats can be kept right at your door; so to speak... I would like to see a show of interest for this meet. One thing of importantance here is that "Check In" time is at noon on Saturday. The owner will not change his mind on this. I thought that we all could meet at Lynn's Restraunt for breakfast, go fishing from there; and then check in at the cabins at or after noon. What we need to do ASAP is get a number of attendee's so reservastions can be made. As of right now there are no cabins rented in our time frame. The new meet dates will be from June 13 (saturday) thru June 20 (saturday)...You will not be commited to stay the entire week; but if you pay for it, Why not??? I hope we have a much bigger turn out than last year and that we continue on as one of the "First" in our part of the country. I would like to see all of those members in Michigan and Wisconsin that made the meet in the past. I'd also like to personnaly invite anyone that may like to join us. I'm sure there will be room for tents if all the cabin space is taken. Please join us for a great time of fishing and just meeting each other again or for the first time. Hope to see you there... Love in Christ; Dennis/Papa_d

    Hi All:

Finally got it squared away with member services where I can post once again from my "duty station".  I agree with Pappy about getting some definite plans set for next year, and responses from ALL of you.  We can change the meet dates to start on the 13th in order to be at Cozy Cottages, that is not a problem,  don't think, and their prices are lower than Northern Lights.  Like Pappy said, at least you will be able to "keep your boats on the water" there.  Which Mike has stated that he "really, really, REALLY, Really, Likes".  The numbers to contact cozy Cottages are as follows:

906-226-8492 (After 8PM)  or Cell Phone 906-869-8492  give them a call and make sure you  an get a cabin.   You might want to "double check" on the cost.  The $450.00 is what he stated earlier this year.  Also I Do Not Know about tents at this location that is something else to check into.  Let's hear from you people, so we can at least get an idea of what 2009 may like look like!  Like Pappy said, I would hate to see this meet "fall by the way-side."

Hey there Mike...I sent an email to Larry Nelson asking if he'd like to share the cabin cost with you. I usually have a hard time making connections with him but gave it a try anyway. I'll also give him a phone call to have him check out the "Gwinn Meet" BB thread. I'd really like this meet to be better than the last. The more the merrier I say.  See ya later; Dennis/Papa_d  Fishing Can

    Pappy!

From the e-mail you sent me it does not sound very promising for next year, and if that's the way it falls, so be it.  There has been very little "interest" shown on this thread since it was posted.  Not even from the so-called "regulars". ????????????

Ok here it is.  I am not able to commit as yet.  I believe that this year is different in that the economy has taken such a dive and folks are not sure what is going to happen.  I know that is part of it for me.  We have all felt the pinch of higher prices on just about everything.  Our dollars do not reach as far as they did when we had the meet this year.  Other factors involved for my decision include my significant other.  I do not know her schedule for vacation yet.  If she is able to join me for the meet then I would require a motel room.  I am trying to get her to pin down her vacation dates and wants so I can make my plans.  I would suggest that those of you that can commit to the time to make the plans you need.  I am very flexable and can adapt to what ever the situation is.  One thing for certainis that I want to be there, I just can't say for sure that I can be.

Hey Larry; Instead of a Motel. how about a nice Cozy Cabin on Big Shag Lake??? Thats what we're trying for and can get all the cabins or only what we need. There's a nice dock right there and looks very nice. I'll Email you the sight and you can look it over. Mike wants one bedroom for himself and will pay for half the weeks rent. That leaves another bedroom and half rent would be $225.00 for the week. That still leaves two more cabins available to anyone wantingto share ect.  Dennis/Papa_d

ok, i i'm trying to make plans to make it this time. money is the #1 problem.

having a wedding the last weekend of may, in ohio [step daughter] is taking most of what i have.

if things work out that i make it, all i need is a place to pitch a tent and i'm good to go.

    Pappy:

Before you state that there will be space available at Cozy Cottages, you better make contact with them to see if they will allow this.  If all the cabins are not rented I really have my doubts, since the cabins can hold 5 people per.

    Mr. Bill:

let's hope that you are not the only one that comes.  If this gos, I'm sure that there will be those willing to share a cabin.  Mike said he'd be willing to share one and if Pappy does not get an answer from his son he maybe willing to share.  Like I said the cabins hold a mx of 5 per unit which would cut down on the individual cost.

    Hi Doc

Been awhile since my last post to the gwinn thread...

Thought I'd interject my thoughts with regards to whats been posted so far... first off things are tight money wise for me right now so I'm unable to commit to coming to the meet next year.

As far a northern lights resort I will not give them another dime of my money !!!!!! they offer a cabin rated for 8 people at one price and then charge you $10 per-person after 2  they charged me $5 for my kids under 3 and $10 for the ones over 3 to the tune $460 extra above the price quote the gave me..

Cozy Cottages look nice however they're charges are the same based on two people for a 5 bed cottage + $10 for each person over 2 ...... with only 4 cabins if I was able to come I would need all of the cabins for my family.. LOL

Have you ever been to or look into http://horseshoelakecampground.com/  they have camping sites as well as cottages right on the lake plus boat and canoe rentails for those needing boats..... thats per their web site.....  might be a place to look into for next year or future meets..

    Take Care and God Bless

To all the members out there Doc and all the members that put the Gwinn meet together do a excellent job . give them a shout and sign up to attend the gwinn meet!!

    Hi Jerry!

Long time no see!  Thanks for popping in and offering your thoughts.  Regarding the price at Cozy Cottages, when I spoke with Dave & Mindy Zorza they told me that the cost of $405.00 per week was for each cabin up to 5 people per cabin.  They did not say anything about additional costs.  I believe that's what they told Pappy when he called also????  I really don't know anymore???  I was not awarre that Horseshoe Lake had cabin rentals, but may be something to check out.  Thanks for the "heads-up"

According to their website the rates are $85-$110 per night.  They do not say how many the cabins will accomedate however???????

    Hi All:

Just spoke with the owners of Horseshore Lake Campgrounds.  Here are their current rates.:

One cabin, sleeps 6., $125.00 per night**

One cabin, sleeps 4, 2 bedroom., $110.00 per night**

    "Honeymoon Cabin" Sleeps 2, $85.00 a night**

I exlained who we were with and that dates we are looking at, and he stated that he would really like to be part of the hosting of members for the meet.  ***He stated that if all three cabins are rented for the week, he would surely look into some type of discount for the members staying there.

He also stated that he is getting reservations already (have to take his word for now), and if anyone would contact him him with rental for all three cabins, all he would need is ONE NIGHTLY deposit on one cabin and he would "BLOCK OFF ALL CABINS FOR THE WEEK of June 13 to June 20, 2009.   So guys here is another option for ya all to look at.  He also stated that if the members stay there, he would consider "throwing in the boat rental" to the members.  There is some good fishing in Horseshoe Lake from what I understand.  All cabins are fully equipped.  Take a look at their web site and really think about this.

Heard from Walleyemen and right now the family IS planning on being here next year.

Let's see what can be doe here fella's. From what I understand there is NO EXTRA change for the number of people in a cabin as long as it does not exceed the numbers listed above.  They also have camper spaces, full hook-up, tent space, showers and so forth.  That's all the information I could gather. It is up to those who are thinking of coming to get together and make arrangements.

    Hey Mr. Bill!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Missed ya in the Chat Room lately??  Working nights are ya???  One cabin I would not suggest sharing is the "Honeymoon Cabin" as it only has one bed!  lol! That would be OK for Pappy & Debbie!  Hope things work out.  Like I said there are also spaces for tent set up if needed.  Meals could be held there but it would be a "little drive" to Big Shag Lake and so forth.

Hey, hey, hey...I'm back. Just spent a week on Lake Chippewa in the far northern Wisconsin Wood's! Most beautiful and had a great time with Davesett2000 hosting the meet. Got to see LipRipper, Joda911, Muskiegirl, TheMossbacks, Canepole, Lou Rod Tosser and wife too. Even Steve made it in from Kansas City, Kansas. Not so many fish; but enough to make it fun for all. Bigh fishfry on the last night. Debbie and I stayed in our own tent and weathered the time just fine. I will concider a tent stay for Gwinn if possable for next June Doc...I'll check out the HorseShoe Lake Site in the morning and then think it all over again. Later...Dennis/Papa_d

    Hi Pete!

I will be staying where I always stay!  At my home!  I see no sense in paying for a place to sleep when the house is not that far away from anyone coming up, if there is a meet next year????

Ya, there will be a meet next year.  It may take folks longer to make up their minds due to the economy / fuel costs.  Hang in there Bro!  Never say die!

Hello Doc...Had a great time indeed. As in Gwinn; we had a couple days of "Wind" that kept the boats in from fishing. However the time was good just the same. Old friends were seen and new ones made. Thats what these meets are all about. I loved the camping in our tent and hope to do it again. I got my usual tally of perch from the shore and brought home enough for a fish fry here. Debbie says Hi. I've got to say that next to Lake Michigan, Lake Chippewa is the biggest body of water I've ever fished. Believe it or not; we even ended the meet with a fish fry. Thanks to Joda and friends; everyone had their fill of Crappie and Bluegills. It just seems to taste better in the outdoors.  Lets see if we can't start stirring some interest in the next Gwinn Meet now. I'll send out a few Emails to spark some if I can.  I've still got to check out Horseshoe and will sometime today. I am currently busy producing items for an upcoming art fair at a local Milwaukee Church. Hopefully I'll do good and make some Christmas Money. Seeze yas later; Dennis/Papa_d

    Hey Pappy!

Glad to hear you had a good time at the meet and were able to bring some fish home with ya!  I got your e-mail., and sorry to say that I agree with you on the last statement in your mailing, about this meet either making or breaking the Gwinn Meet tradition.  If this one does not "fly" I guess it can be kissed good-bye!

    Hey Dean!

Good to see you on the BB.  All I can say is I really hope it does "fly".   It will just have to be a "Wait & See" situation considering all that is going on in the country today!  I figure that by March of 09 people should be able to say for sure one way or another and then go from there.  That's all I can do.  Like the old saying: " You can lead a horse to water, but can't make them drink!"  We'll see what develops and how fast it does develop, and maybe plan from there.

It would be nice if we could get those who are interested in next year's meet into the Chat Room so a one-on-one discussion could be held.  If interested let's set a date and time for this to take place.  JUST A THOUGHT!

Hey there Dean...Glad to see your interest in next years meet. I'd surely like to hook up with you on your trips to gety them many Panfishes your talking about. I still havent hit the "Mother Load" as you have; but would love trying to myself. I checked out Horseshoe Lake campground but didn't get much out of it. It looks nice but is on the pricy side. I'd rather go with the Cozy Cottages on Big Shag Lake if we can get the interest and get er done...Dennis/Papa_d

    Hey Pappy!

Ya never know about those "Mother Loads"., If this flies, you just might get your chance.  As far as accomadations go, that is up to those that are travelling up here.  You all have to get together and figure out what you want & where you all intend to stay.  I do not know what the status is as far as Cozy Cottages go, as the for sale sign is still out!  Do not know what dates are open as far as the time frame for this meet's schedule goes either.  Have not made any contact with them since I sent out the price list on this place.  Since the economy is in the shape it is, I guess it will be a "Wait and See Game".

Bill, I don't think you'll have to worry to much that this thread will disappear. Like you have said in the above posts.....it is still pretty early. Seeing as things are so unstable with money, gas prices, and all - I believe alot of people are going to wait before commiting to something so far ahead. I know I will be not taking as many trips next year as I did this year. I have a 28 gallon tank in my van - the up side is my gas may last longer between fill up's, but when it is time to fill up - that is ONE BIG CHUNK OF CHANGE.

Hang in there Bill......if it is meant to be - it will pan out in it's good time.

Yup, yup...It is early yet but even so I think there were alot of replys and remarks made by this time last year. It seems that those who always took part are waiting to the last minute which only makes it harder to get accomidations for the meet. I guess I'll just set here on the sidelines to saee what develops by next year. Hopefully 2009 may turn out even better than the 2008 meet. Later all...Dennis/Papa_d Fishing Can

Allon and I had a little talk last weekend and we decided to attend the 2009 meet.  He's taller and tougher so we'll be able to make fairly good time on the motorcycle trip.  We made in  two and a half days in 2007 but we should be able cut the trip down to just one overnight stop.

Looking forward to seeing ya'll once again-------------JCT

Great to hear from you!  I am also glad to hear that you and Allon will be attending in '09!  That's great!  Well, that makes  you and Allon, Pappy and myself for sure at this point!  I guess eventually others may commit at which time will come the bigger hurdle of finding a place for folks to stay.  I guess we will cross that bridge when we get closer.

i've hit a snag for now. waiting on doctors and test. was getting out of car a couple weeks ago and i felt something pop. after standing/leaning on the car for a few minutes, i started walking towards the building to go in and i met with the pavement first hand. been having trouble standing without lower back pain since.

i'm doing better now, but in a lot of pain at times. also have been going to physical theropy already. waiting to have an mri done and then who knows were.

I do think that to be our best deal as for the cost and on water experience. Looks like the Gwinn interest is starting to show a little. Hopefully we'll be big in numbers before long. Thats why I never fish before work.... That would be a bad thing...

    Hi Folks!

Got a phone call from Riley this evening., and he informed me that he has made his reservations for next year's meet at the Northern Lights resort. He wanted to know the dates so I told him June 12 to June 19.  He is bringing 12 people with him. That makes 16 I believe. Riley + 12., Me, Dennis & Deb and Mike B.  At least this is a little better than last year., and MAYBE this will get some others to commit to the meet.  I have sent e-mails to Pappy, Larry, Chuck, Doug, Mike, Gene and Chuck lets see what kind of response I get off of this one? Maybe now we can START SOME SERIOUS DISCUSSIONS.

this is getting to be re-dic-u-less have to sign in and out several times just to get in here. then have to do it a couple more times before it will let me even try to post. then you have to sign in and out a couple more times with each post before it even shows up. e-mailed the club last week about it [twice] and no word on even if they got the e-mail or not. this is my 5th time trying to post on just this thread in the past week.

i'm still planning on trying to make it this year. i've put in for the time off and need to see if i still have the funds after my daughters wedding. if not this year then there will always be next year.......right.

oh sky cop have they closed out the chat room finnally???? haven't been able to get in to it either since the new format was put in plasce.

Happy New Year to all my NAFC friends.!  Hope 2009 treats all of you better than 2008 did.  Hope to see a lot of you at the meet in 2009, and also hope to see some more activity on this thread regarding the status of those who are still undecided (for various reasons) aboutr making this meet, but I do understand the situation all of us will be facing.  I would just hate to see the meet fail completely.

Hello Doc...After several attempts of emailing the club because of not being able to make posts; I finally got Reregistered under the new name of papa D. I don't understand why I lost my contact in the first place...but I'm back again now. I just hope it stays as is now. Not really much news since my last entry but I am a Grand Dad again as of the 3rd of this month. Another boy, making it two now. Jonathan and I are still planning on coming and I made my down payment on cabin 7B at Northern Lights Lodge. Looking forward to seeing all who attend again this year.Hopefully there will be more jumping on before the meet. Whatever...I'll be there with family too. Had a good Christmas and a dry New Years evening. No headachs that way. See yas later; Dennis /papa D <new me!!!

    Hello Pappy!

"New" Name huh?  Could have sworn you had that initially????  But the main thing is you are back!  Not much happening here either., very quite Christmas and a REAL QUITE New Year's Eve., since I worked Christmas Day and New Year's Day., so mine was "Safe, Sane & Sober".    Hope as the year goers on, people are able to figure out their status for this year's meet.  You know that Riley has supposdly rented cabins there also for 12 people?  Have not really checked with the owners., but that's what he (Riley) said.  Don't know about Pllman, Chuck of Doug yet., Have to wait and see what develops. Have not heard a word from Mike except for a Christmas Card????  Well Pappy., keep in touch now that you can post again.

Understand about the status of this year's meet., I have a feeling that you are not going to be alone in that. All we can do is sit and see what happens.

Bill, is this really how they treat little girls in Gwinn?

GWINN, Mich. (AP) — Eleven-year-old Natasha Rzanca has been out of Sawyer Elementary School for more than a week. The fifth-grader from the school in the Upper Peninsula community of Gwinn isn't sick and says she hasn't been suspended. The cause of her absence? She has pink hair.

WLUC-TV reported Natasha said she always wanted pink hair and her mother didn't mind. But she said school administrators' reaction has been less enthusiastic: They told her to leave and return when her care is back to a "normal color."

Superintendent Michael Maino declined to comment about the case but says the guidelines are clear for the elementary school.

Natasha said she has been doing school work at home and will dye her back to brown if it's the only way to return.

    Hey Fish!
Darn if I knoww., this is the first I've heard of this one.  But considering who the superintendernt at KI Sawyer is., it does dot surprise me one bit.  But if it is the school guidelines what can one say., Evidently the parents are not too concerned as they do not seem to be causing a fuss about it?????

Bill, you would think they had more important things to worry about than the color of someones hair. Do you think they would let her back in if she shaved it all off like the guys do now?

BTW, been getting any snow lately? Just wondering if global warming is still a problem in the UP?

    Fish:

Yea, I would also think there are more important things to worry about., but like I said, knowing the school superintendent, it does not surprise me any! There must be two superintendents for the school system in Gwinn, the way I read the article, because the name mentioned in the article IS NOT the super at Gwinn High School., and I thought the Super was in charge of all schools within a disrict????

Oh yea, we are getting snow here., right now year to dat snowfall is 155 inches., Normal snowfall to date is around 94 inches.  Gobal Warming yea right., Send Al Gore un here and let him open his mouth, then we will have global warming all right.  Tem right now at 1015AM EST is -16 ACTUAL., not counting the wind chill.

Hello All...It looks like things are just not working out for everyone this year. I too will not be making the meet this year. I've had some erratic problems with my health also. I found out I am Anniemic (sp) a loss of blood somewhere. I had a Colonoscopy which only brought up further problems of dark spots/lumps ect. I have lost about 70% of the energy I had last year. My Doc says that "no long trip away from home" until thiese problems are resolved. I am next Emailing Northern Lights to cancel my reservations there. I'm going to miss all yer beautiful faces this year; but maybe next. Another note is that my son Jonathan had joined the Air Force because of employment. God bless him in his endevors too. Well! This year's meet is looking worse eacvh time I open my home e-mail! Just received another "I don't think I';ll make it this year" notice.   This one from good old Chuck.  I can understnad his reason.  But as I said it is looking worse every day.  If it does not improve here shortly we just as well cancel for this year!  If there is going to "be talk" about next year, you all may want to consider someone else to run/handle it.

Well, received another "Don't look good" notice.  This one from Doug and family.  Family & economy cited as the reason.  So it goes, That about takes care of the "regulars" that normally come up.  The decision on whether to hold the meet this year or not is up too you folks. If anyone knows how to get ahold of Riley I would appreciate knowing, so he can be informed of what is going on here.

You're welcome 'bro...I'm sorry to see things happening here the way they are  but with the economy and things that individuals are experiencing...those can't be helped.

I wish I could help you guyz with Riley's contact info....ironically...him and I were going to exchange info when I was up there....but with all the other things that were going on...it didn't happen.  If you hear from him...and they decide to change plans...let me know...as I will then consider something else for THIS year....maybe Ohio if I can find someone to go along.

I'm going to get back up that way sooner or later though...regardless. Too many good fishing areas and too many good folks for that NOT to happen

Ship some of that snow down to Wisc if ya want  ...high lake levels mean an extra good spawn....and better fishing in the future

    Hey Fish!

You got that right!   WIth the amount we have now., 203.3 inches., 71 inches above our normal for this time of the year, it will surely add to the inland lakes!  And if there is no meet that equates to more fish for the locals!

Hey Guy's...Just a quick note for now. Last couple tests came back near normal; but I'm loosing blood somewhere other than my stools. Blood count doesn't stay near where the Doc wants it to be. Also discovered I have a very painful hernia! What next huh??? Thank you for all the kind words and prayers. Will check back when I'm feeling better. Dennis/Papa_d

Since there has been no activity on this thread since my last post, I am going to assume that there will be NO MEET THIS YEAR.  However, I will continue to keep the options OPEN UNTIL APRIL 1st 2009.  If there is nothing firm by that date then I will officially cancel the meet for 2009.

    Hey All:

Just an up-date.  Just got off the phone with the folks at the Northern Lights Resort, and they advised me that there ARE NO RESERVATIONS  from anyone for this year.  There waas one, Pappy's., but we know that was canceled because of health problems.  So there you have the latest information.

I spoke with Riley last week.  He said he is not coming to the meet this year.  He is planning to do a lot of things but coming to the meet isn't one of them.

For myself I hope to make it up there for a few days if there is a meet but politics is really heating up around here and who knows what will be going on by the time June rolls around.  I know, it makes it kind of hard for planning purposes.

    Doc,

I wish I had the time and resources  this year to be able to say I’m coming to the 2009 Gwinn meet  but I can’t do that, because of personal health issues, as well as those of Tyler’s and other family issues this past year .

To all the members viewing this topic. There is a select group of members here on the web site who have taken the lead for the benefit of others to make this one of the best Clubs out there ever since the Club web site first came online in 1997 , in my eye DOC is one of those individuals. For the past 7 years he has hosted the Gwinn meet for all of us.

I know that do to the economy etc. members have to cut back on a lot of things! However as a member of this club and one of the first attendees / attendee of the Gwinn meet for several years I for one don’t want to see the Gwinn meet fall by the wayside. This club is about people, people like you, me and Doc who have a passion for fishing and the willingness to share it with others   If you’ve ever thought about attending a menber meet or fishing the UP. of Michigan here’s your chance!  Please !  Let DOC know that you’re interested in getting together even if it’s for the weekend or a juat a day .

Please give him a shout !

    Take Care and God Bless

And Doc when times are better you can bet I’ll be giving you a call

I whole-heartedly agree with your comments RT. If it wasn't for my being unemployed since May of last year....and the uncertainity of unemployment at this point...I'd go back for sure....as Doc and others in the area made me feel welcome....and the fishing and scenary in the area are hard to beat.

A small issue I percieve with the area is that there isn't ONE MAJOR lake with a campground on it close by (as with other Meets) that this is held on....but even with that said....that single point will NEVER stop me from returning to the area....OR to a MEET in the area.

As far as I'm concerned....the UP Meet won't ever "die"....as there are WAY too many good folks and places to fish for that to happen. It MAY have to "move" a little to another location so that folks that want to attend can be more centralized though.

JMHO...and as ALWAYS Doc...God Bless and LUV ya 'bro...and hope to see you and others up there soon

Hey Doc---I'm sorry to hear that your not getting good response for the meet>I wish I was closer and I would definitely drop into the UP for some fishin! Hope that if you have to cancel it for this year that it will revive again for the future. Good luck to you no matter what the outcome! Take care and God Bless.------------Bill J/Fishnhunt
