Sue and I hope to come over Saturday. ( if the snow melts and I can get the camper out) She will go home Monday and hopes to come back Thursday or Friday. I live more than 50 miles away so I guess I can't bring the frankwood. I can't wait to be fishing again.

    Hey!  Very cool new neighbors!
I will call the campground and reserve a spot for us.  (Celeste and I)

I cleared it with David today and it's a go!  Maybe I can get him to come down on Saturday to meet everyone.

I just logged in for the first time in ages... had to make a new username and password.
But I am here and will check out the forums a bit.
I used to get to fish a whole lot more than as of late. But I still love it and long to become the hopeless addict that I once was able to be.

Thanks Frank! I forgot about Spider Patrol!

I am going to try to rig something up so Celeste and I can sleep in the car.
We will still use the tent to store our things and to change clothes...
but I think we will camp in the Forester! We'll call it "ADVENTURE CAMPING!!"

Not sure about bringing pie. They don't seem to fair very well until Saturday.. unless we eat it Friday night!
Also am thinking that a nice tomato, cucumber, onion salad would be good to go with the meal.

If I do bring a pie, should I make an apple pie? or cherry pie? some other flavor? what do you think? anyone can speak up.

Seneca Lake is another one of those beautiful places that is always worth visiting. These meets are so special great places to fish with great people. If you are able you should make every effort to make a meet nearest to you.

If I do bring a pie, should I make an apple pie? or cherry pie? some other flavor? what do you think? anyone can speak up.

i sure wish I could have met canepole last year. At least I get to finally meet turtle!

Today and tomorrow I am getting ready for a huge poultry show this Sunday in Bath, NY.
Have to wash chickens and get my cages ready for transport.

Also going to the store to buy pie ingredients today.
I have to work next Wed (1-8) and Thursday(2-8), so I have to try and make those pies in between!

I think it will be one cherry (for Ed) and one "chocolate something". Celeste wants chocolate.

    getting anxious now!

Thanks Scott, I'm sorry you couldn't make it.
I awoke this morning at 0430 and there was a light rain, at 0500 a heavier rain woke me up. So I slept in today. You could hear the white caps breaking from camp the wind really hasn't let up. I went down by the boat launch at about 1100 and there were a few brave souls battling the swells. I'll wait and see what tomorrow brings. Pete called this morning I put him on speaker phone and let everyone abuse him. LOL He's leaving around noon today. See ya soon Pete. I've got to start looking for that grape pie.

I'm up at 0530 nobody stirring. So I took a shower. 0600 went over to Pete's and turned his coffee pot on. There was a couple of voices coming from the Ohio tent. The rooster is starting to crow so maybe things will come to life soon. It is 54 degrees and no rain here. Sounds like a good day. I think the reason I can't find the pike is there all hanging in the trees.

Yates County -- Two people were in the water for several hours after their boat capsized on Seneca Lake Monday morning.

Joseph Greco and David Lewonczyk were fishing on the lake when their boat capsized around 9:30 a.m.

Greco and Lewonczyk were in the water for three to four hours before they were discovered by residents on shore, who called police.

Neither of the boaters were injured in the incident. No word yet on what caused the boat to turn over.

The overturned boat was recovered Monday night by the Yates County Sheriff's Marine patrol.

I guess they went over at Long Point , there was a nasty storm that was north of us yesterday maybe that's what happen..............the park guy told me they towed them in at Lodi and turn the boat over last night............today when I was put my boat back on I found a bag with spark plugs and bearing for a trail..........could be there's I gave to the park guy.........................................we had a slow bite today , We popped a 18" to 20" laker early but I didn't keep or work that area because I was after the BIG browns boated two brown about 12" and lost two or 3 other fish never boxed any thing..................had Big Dog and his dad with me and big dog landed his 1st Seneca laker today................

    ..............................................................

    Seneca 9-15-2010
    Went 8 for 11 or 12 nothing big..............lakers were from 17" to 20"...........
Brother Stan and his dog King went out with me today. Plan was the same as yesterday but work the laker area to see if we could get some thing else going. We boated 4 lakers in that area then I changed my mind and moved to a rainbow/salmon area instead of the brown spots....................picked up one dink salmon (10" is that a little small for stocking seems like they are around 12" years past)...........and kepy on working down to a better spot. Picked up a 20.5" @ 2# 12 oz one more dink and a laker also had about three misses for the day.................all spoons............every thing came 62' to 82' down over various depths...............temp break is better but much deeper than it should be................

We called up camp after we boated the bigger landlock told them were would be late for lunch because we had to make a few more passes thru that spot.............

I used to get to fish a whole lot more than as of late. But I still love it and long to become the hopeless addict that I once was able to be.

A great time was had by those of us that made it out from Ohio. Glad to meet old friends as well as make new ones. Little Dog really had a blast and I'm sure he'll be able to remember it later on in life. As usual, the food at our meets is always great and we always have plenty of pie.SMF. Mrs.BD told me when I got home this afternoon that she won't miss the next one. Dave & Nancy, thanks again for letting us use your screen tent to place over our table. When I got home I remembered that I forgot to get that life preserver out of Ed's boat that you let us use for Little Dog. Mabe Ed can get it back to you before you head for home. Thanks Ed, and Thanks Nancy for letting us use it, I'm sorry that I forgot to get it out of the boat. Glad to meet you & Dave and the rest of ya's that we just met this year. We look forward to the next time that we can be there. BD

These are the lures that caught fish for me this year at the meet:

The top lure is a Rapala deep tail dancer.  It caught a perch that was about the same size...lol!  I used several other colors of this lure but with no success.

The second lure is a Rapala down deep husky jerk.  The first time I used it I thought I had snagged bottom, but several large head shakes changed my mind!  While Frank was clearing the other lines the split ring for the tail hook snapped and I never got to see the fish!  Frank put the lines back in while I repaired the lure and then put it back out.  A few minutes later I caught a 24" pickerel.  After that we headed in for the day.  Both of these lures were used on an overcast day with rain in the morning.

The third lure is a Rapala DT16 and this one caught me a 23" pickerel later in the day (I was experimenting with other lures).  Sue, Frank's wife caught several fish on a silver DT16, but I'll let Frank supply the details!   The sky was clear and sunny this day...  We were trolling both days in about 30' to 18' of water...

Nice pic's everyone. Celeste and little dog fishing is precious. To those of you who haven't been to a meet look at that pic. If it wasn't for the members of this club things like that would never happen. Not to mention all the other great friendships that have been made. Anyone that has been to the fingerlakes meet when I was there gets e-mails (if I have there e-mail) from me the are sent to fingerlakes family. And they are just that family.

Home safe.  Thanks to you all for makin' us welcome as newbees to the figer lakes meet.  Denise is already talking about a full year licence for the next NE meet so we can do this one again too.  Thanks especialy to Ed for the hard days fishing Sunday to put us on a few lakers and the first salmon Ive seen boated (even if it was a bitsy one...it was silver!!).  The weeds mats were everywhere and he put in another day of huting for that cold patch that wasn't to be found.  62 degrees at 50 ft everywhere on that lake....and we covered quite a bit of it looking for a temp drop but it just wasn't to be a brown trout day.  Long leading those deeper rigs is a tough hookup too.  alot of slack got em to bite but I think I missed two not being able to get the line tight fast enough.  Sat. we walked watkins glen then put in at Lodi point to fish the cove around the corner but no luck and with the meet meal on the books we diddn''t have much time to try.  but we got out for a few and the water stayed calm enough for a nice few hours on the water trying.  We'll be back next year.  Thanks again everyone!!!  We'll be thinkin of ya'll.
