A whole week of fishing, friends, and outdoor cooked food. Can't get much better. [Great weather would help too] I'll just have to save up some extra $$ for the extra nights at the motel.

I think it is awesome that you guys have had this meet for ten years...all on your own...no support from nafc. It would be nice if they could support the meets...just commit one page in the magazine to this meet. I wish I was closer...I'd love to attend this but I'm a little to far away for my old van. Rod Tender, make sure you or one of the folks there post a bunch of pics for us here...and catch one for ol' mo!

mo65,,... NAFC Admin have been asked to visit and be at this meet. None so far, for any length of time.

I know it is too early for food menus at meet. Back in 2005 in town of Coon Creek, WI. I went looking around for fun of it.
Was a BBQ Rest. that served "All you can eat Ribs".. on Weds. night. Don't know if they are still open....just a suggestion to anyone
who may want to venture out for evening meals.

Hard to been Jerry's cooking anyhow.

Welcome and Thank You for your interest in our meet

The meet is open to any and all members from around the country, as well as their Families.  Your welcome to spend the day or stay the week.
The campground is located in the backwater of the mississippi river, there's two miles of fishable shoreline around the island and three boat ramps to lanch from if you bring a boat and want to fish the main river.
The ultimate goal of the meet is to meet with fellow members to relax, catch a few Fish, and share a story or two around the campfire. There are no set rules at the La Crosse meet for fishing (other than having a valid fishing license for the area and adhering to the local size & bag limits) we do not have tournaments so there's no pressure to catch fish or special equipment needed bring what you have it's just members getting together and having a great time on and off the water.

    Activities:
Members arrive throughout the week setup camp, meet / greet with other members, and or go fishing. Evenings we sit around a campfire share stories and plan for the next day’s fishing. Is up to each member as to how they want to spend the day some Member's pair up and fish together, others just relax and visit around camp or fish from shore, some go site seeing, shopping and etc.

    Meals:
We meet as a group for breakfast and dinner. I will post an update with more info on the dates and times / menu offered as we get closer to July!!

if you have any other question or need more info let me know. look forward to meeting you

Did you get your March magazine yet? On the front cover it says "When Crappies Come Hard." If you read the article it states that this has more to do with feeding patterns than spawning. What a disappointment. Oh well, I read the articles anyhow, I don't look at the pictures. ;-)

This sounds like it could be a lot of fun. My son and I have fished down at Clements Barge several times down in Genoa. I never knew this meet was going on until this past week. I may have to pop over for a day or two to meet some fellow members. Its only about a 2 hour drive. What is the most popular species fished for from shore? I only bank fish so I wanna know my chances and what gear to bring along.

    Welcome Wifisher

To answer your question: I’d have to say that bass and pan fish have been the most productive from shore during the day, members have caught some nice cats and walleyes later in the day.
Make sure you pick a number for the Door Prize it's open to all who attends be it for the week or just a day everyone is eligible .

Thanks for your interest, if you have any other questions let me know ? make sure to check back as I will be posting more info in the coming months.

    See you on the river

There is good fishing from the shore. Bass, Crappie, Walleye, Etc. They are the same species you would get at Clements Barge... except maybe the sturgeon. I've never caught one of those. The opportunity will be there to get out on a boat with one of the members that have them. Look forward to seeing you there.

Spring is taking its time this year...but it will come...getting warmer here in Ohio now.
Ashes to ashes, dust to dust, if it wasn't for my super smooth carbon drag, my 30 year old Trilene would bust!

sure hope it gets here soon last year temps were in the mid 80* and dry, This year we have rain /snow mix temps at night in the 30* plus for the last two weeks we had rain/snow mix with more on the way this week .   This time last year we were swimming in the pool  as of today I still have a giant ice cube floating in the pool 11/2foot thick 22foot round.

Jerry you can still share the pool with the iceberg. I'm sure it wouldn't mind.

I drown worms... I think Rodrigo knows where the tie is right now. but I believe it has been arranged for me to have it in July.. I will bring it with me to La Crosse if that is the case.
Sure wil be glad to get up there. I miss being with all you folks.

Remember to notify me of any fishing stuff one may need up there. I will try to bring it, if in stock.

I will have my rod/reel repair kits with me.
