I will be looking forward to seeing the photos from the members that have it this year.

I know that some of the older members that followed the "Tie" willbe watching to even if they do not post, I know there watching.

I know theres no way, as much as they were involed, that there not checking the site from time to time, even if they are so upset they wont post anything.

Ok folks, we are back on track.  I have received Jesse's address and Woo2 will be sending it on.  Fishnhunt, I have received your info!  It looks like we're back on track.  This new site is making this a lot more difficult, but if we post all issues here that pertain tot the Tie, we'll be ok.

Dan,  I will be seeking folks for 2009 in September of this year.  I always start with those that have never had the tie before.  Remind me then, and you'll have your choice of month.

Turnip, I'm so glad that you were able to carry on.  I've been off the site, because I couldn't get on. It wouldn't take my login stuff and I simply didnt try much after December, but I'm back and happy to see the tie making it's merry way around the country.

I've got to go check the latest pics to see where it's been.

hey rod long time no see! glad to see you around....

well here is last OCT tie pix that i got developed!

this one needs a tie add'd it was the day i got the tie but when i got to the fishin hole um i noticed i left it at home, DAM IT!

      07striper.jpg picture by lbt_2006

hmm i'm gittin thurst, me and a buddy Skip who is a member of nafc but does not visit the site,  my budy mike behind the camera, taking a pic of the tie before a shore lunch! those clifs behind us in both pix were are diving boards as teens till some died out there! now you can only git there by boat! but i might have to try a jump this summer! 40' in to breath taking cold water, the water is fresh from a dam about a mile up stream so it does take  your breath away no matter what time of year it is, more so in 100+ temps...

You may have noticed that the site runs a little slow... compared to say, a sleeping sloth.  I have been assured that by the end of next month we will see many new updates making this site fun and functional.  I spoke with a couple of people who work for the club and they explained the problems we've encountered to me.  They go like this.  At the end of last summer the NAFC pulled it's content from our former provider (groupee) which was in response to some changes that groupee was going to do, which would have lost a lot of content.

apparently things should be faster and better.

LBT love the fish pics.  Turnip thanks again for doing this.  Hopefully, in a couple of months we'll be able to post quickly and get around easily.

    See ya,
    rodrigo

Ok, so the Tie has been getting around but not a lot of pics with fish. Well, I decided to change that. Here is the Tie and myself with a 30 inch Northern caught 14 April 2008 in the Mississippi River at the dam by LaCrosse. She was dropping eggs all over me so I got a quik pic and put her back in the water.

The Tie went fishing at Nekoosa with a Great bunch of folks on Saturday. The river was way up with a nasty current. We were able to pick up a few fish though.

I got a 14 inch walleye while waiting rescue by CanePole. My started didn't disengage so I toasted it on an upriver run at full speed.

Muskie Girl and Ret psg had some luck with cats. Heres MG with her 20 inch cat.

Since I toasted boat starter I decided to shore fish. Since thats where all the catching was going on. Only caught one more fish, a 16.5 inch Walleye.

Not a good showing for a whole day on the river. Especially during the spring run. We did have a good time though. Thats the important thing.

Just had to get one final pic before I sent the tie on to SugarCreek Angler. I took the tie to work since one of my coworkers uses the power point projector to give news updates of my fishing. I just figured that I would do a little show and tell of its origins. It will be on its way this week. Thanks.

Here is that trebble on the original floater that pete tied for me the trebble held up really good it can take a beating a bit blurry but it`s the best i can do

i was by myself when i was fishing so i had no one to take a picture of me with the tie holding the fish

I got skunked the whole time I had the tie, and my luck hasn't changed yet!!  I use the same bait, in the same spots with my buddies, and I'm the only one coming up with nuttin'!

I try every trick in the book and still nuttin'!

I may have to go to WalMart and buy me some guppy's and starve them critters a bit, and then use my 12 ga.!

Alright Aaron, I like those pictures, sorry I didn't see em sooner.  Lawrence, well I am sorry no fish were caught with the tie.  I've discovered it's not always the bait, in my experience I've used the bait tied to some sort of string, preferrably some type of fishing line.  It makes it much easier to retrieve the fish once it hits the lure.  Of course I'm just jokin' sorry you didn't get any.

Here are a few pic's from last weeks fishing with the tie trip.

I can only hope they get bigger.

Well this rock bass is a little bigger.

My first Walleye of the year.

I hope they get bigger than this one.

This was suppose to be a smallmouth and pike fishery. But it looks like the walleye are top bill.

I never did catch a smallmouth or a pike.

The biggest walleye was just under 2lbs and all but the one was over 1lb.

Starting on October 1 I will start a thread for "The Official Tie Thread, 2009."  I will be seeking FIRST, those individuals that have not had the tie before.  From there I will back fill with those that have already had it.

It's good to know some things don't change.  I was worried that I'd get on here and the pages would load quickly and I'd be inclined to spend hours on my favorite fishing BB, but they still go slow.   Arrghhh!

Sarcasm aside, Nice job Dave and Wellsley good fish, I'm glad to see the tie keeps moving.  I noticed someone didn't catch any fish with it.  I am sorry to hear that.  Anyway, keep up the good work, I'm glad you guys posted.

I first read about the tie in the magazine article about Muskygirl.  What a fantastic idea.  I would love to take the tie fishing with me.  I even know where I will go. I will be chasing a largemouth at Briery Creek Lake in Farmville, VA.

How do I go about getting on the list?  I am sure there is a waiting list.  I fish around 15-20 days a month. I can't wait to retire.  LOL.  Have a great weekend everyone.

After a long day at work it was a pleasant surprise to find the tie had found it`s way to the Buckeye. To be sure it got greeted correctly Miss Lauren and I headed off to the water.  I am hoping that Miss Lauren will be catching her first steelie soon, with the tie would be even cooler. First cast out for her and the bobber goes down. LOL. Well we didn`t catch any steelhead today but we did have a good time fishing. tomorrow is another day. Cool

Well I be jiggered, a tie that goes fishing, what a concept. I for one would like to say its a great idea and would love to participate in this. I'm in the eastern shore bass fishing club on eastern shore of virginia, and we have bass meets every month, no matter if it rains or snows so its pretty cool. And just became a life member of the NAFC in may of this yr. I was a member in the 80's living in Iowa at the time, but got lost in the shuffle. I'm new to the sight, so far be it by me. although I have tryed to post a pic but its telling me that my file is to big so I will run a test again and see what is up...tried to cut and paste but that doesnt work either and aslo tried the other way and says my file is to big ..........dem only one pic....................well I guess if I cant post pic then I guess tie is out for me until I figure this dern thing out.    later all

The weather and work just have not been co-operating with me and the Tie. Sorry guys, thought this month would have been better than it has. If it wasn`t for the first day it would have been a total loss. But that day me and Lauren got out was a very good one, it was a nice day and we enjoyed our fishing trip very much. I will be on the water this week-end for one last try at a steelie, wish me luck.

The Tie will be moving on this coming Monday.

    Thanks guys!!

It was rough going this morning. Got down to my best little fishing hole and found it had frooze over night. Number two was not much better. Had to get me a steelie while I got the tie so to the little creeks I go. Best I could find was Wheeler Creek. 28* this morn with the wind howling straight out of the north off the lake a hundred feet away. BRRRRR. Nothing was working, The current is going out and the wind is blowing so hard the float is headed up river. But I was there and the water was soft and my time is running short. So there I stood without a soul in sight. (no one else was dumb enough to be out there) With my hands in my pockets trying to stay warm there goes the bobber. The steelie skunk left today. Wish it was a little warmer so the kids could get out. Maybe tomorrow.

I headed out this morning for what would likely be my last trip with the tie. It was not looking good. The wind had died down over night and the temp was 20*, the only thing that was keeping the water from freezing yesterday was the little waves from the wind. Once I reached my fishing hole from yesterday and seen it had frooze over things were not looking good. I looke around some more and found a small opening a little further up stream. Kicked a hole thru the ice at the shore to land any fish and a fishing I was. First hit came about an hour later. My landing hole was on the left end of the opening and the hit was on the right. Considering all the ice this fish came in without to much trouble. He even opened up my hole a little when he decided to jump up thru the ice LOL. He was right under 8 pounds.

Fishing picked up after I got the first one in. Before long #2 was on the line. Again all the way to the right he hit. This one was a problem. The ice was thin and he pulled my line right thru it. But it was to thick for me to be able to break with 6# line. Took me about a half hour to get him out of the ice and to the hole. Just a little guy but fun all the same. He stayed just long enough to get a pic and back in he went.

#3 was a little booger. Same as the last, hit on the right and under the ice he goes. This one I could not get to take out enough line to get me clear of the ice. After about 45 minutes of screwing with him I decided I would try to get him on top of the ice and drag him in (dumb idea), he wasn`t very big. Was I surpised when I got him up to the edge and poped him on top. Then guess what happened. temp in the 20s, wet and laying on the ice. Yup, instant freezer burn, little booger frooze to the ice instantly. I did finally get him in, he stayed long enough for a pic also and back he went.

#4 was the gotcha of the day. Nice fish this time but he tore me up thru the ice. Shreaded my line and was gone. But #5 was not far behind. The best fight of the day. This guy was full of nitro and just would not give up. A fun battle all the way. Took about 45 minutes to get him in and it was worth it. A beautiful fish. He`s in the neighbors freezer. I called it a day when I put him on the stringer. A good day it was.

Matt wouldn`t go out his morn, to cold. But was all for getting in on a pic with the tie.

Pete, I want to say Thank-You for all the work you do with the tie. I can imagine over the last year it has not been any easy task. I very much enjoyed the ties visit with me, the thoughts and pics of where it has been and where it will be is kinda like getting to fish with all the folks who have had the tie before me and those that will come tomorrow. Thats what we are about. Where there is a will there is a way. I hope you all enjoyed fishing with me a little. The Tie will be off to Colorado tomorrow. Mr. Bill wants to take us fishing, and I`m looking forward to the trip. Thanks again, Pete.

I thank you, ICB, but it is the hard work of those that took the tie fishing.  The pictures and stories make for this wonderful tradition!  I agree, this is part of who the NAFC is, and it is a priveledge to be a part of so many great folks.  By the way, thanks for taking us fishing...It was fun!
