No you were not the only one with no fish and having the tie.  Trev has it and no fishing to be done here in 07 in December, boat was in storage and the lakes were not frozen.  So out to supper we went had walleye fingers at least it was fish lol.  Maybe the tie will come back to visit in a year or two.

Chuck, don't feel bad, I've been here for a few years and never took the time to figure out how to post pics since they redid the site. It was a lot easier before the changes! If you want the tie put in for it, someone will help you post the pics, if you haven't figured it out by the time you get it.

cwej, you only need to do a few things.  First, make sure that the person who has the tie before you, in this case it is Bigdog, has your mailing address so he knows where to send the tie!  Second, have fun...Third, make sure you have the address of the person who will receive the tie after you!  Fourth, have much more fun!  Any additional questions, just ask.

Ed, I had to remove you from August.  FishnHunt could not use the tie this month due to surgery and so I honored his request for the month of August.  Sorry for the confusion as I only was made aware of this today.  The tie will be in my posession in about a week.

FishnHunt, I have honored your request for August, and if you look to the schedule you will see that I have posted such...Sorry to hear of your health issues.  I would send you a PM but the site doesn't recognise me to use the PM feature...This is my third try at posting this!  So, listen to your doctor, stay well and Merry Christmas!

    Pete,

I sent you a PM a while back, so I'm not sure you even received it.  Although I've had the TIE and it's not the 15th, I would like to have it next month (Jan '09).  The Steelhead out here really like the photo ops with the TIE and it gets me out on the water even if I don't want to go (like that's a problem).  I know a lot of our members are iced in or just not on the water/ice in January, but not the case for Oregon boys.

Let me know when you can.

So how has the tie been doing?   I didn't fish much in 2008 & I've been avoiding this site because it was loading so slowly.  This is my first post on the new look, so maybe it'll be more welcoming and post within seconds of hitting enter.  I'm glad to see the tie is still moving.

I was beginning to think someone rubbed the TIE with "Skunk Juice" or something as I hadn't touched a fish while it was in my posession.  But that all changed yesterday on the NF Nehalem River.  With all of the Snow around the new year and the warming trend and rain that followed, most of our rivers have been iffy with off color high water.  Then when it dried out a bit, and the rivers dropped into shape, I was sequestered in a hotel in Geprgia and airplanes to and from for most of what should have been the best fishing of the new year.  When I went down yesterday, the water was low and clear, which is ok, but there just weren't that many fish around.  I fished the morning with no touches, went over to the main Nehalem to meet up with my son and his buddies.  That river is much larger, had significant flooding and is still a few days away from reasonable fishing shape.  After a few fruitless hours, I decided to head back to the NF for the night bite.  It wasn't white hot by any stretch of the imagination, but I did manage a nice buck for my efforts.  My jigs haven't been doing the trick yet this year, so I was drift fishing with a rag and sand shrimp tail.  I'm having a few issues with pics, so may have to post again.

The TIE is on it's way to Walleye King #1.  I will be traveling this week and needed to get it moving Friday.  Mojo is still alive and well as the boys and I landed 6 of the 7 fish we hooked yesterday.  Good fishing everyone.

Good looking fish King, wish I had perch that looked that good in my neck of the woods.

Hello Turnip anyway I can get that Tie in December, be a good time for me, and it looks like the tie may be open at that time of year. The eyes hang heavy in the inlets around here at that time of year.

    Sent you my info.

Looks like the tie is doing fine.  Howard's & Larry's pics were great.  Makes me glad things are still moving.  Speaking of moving.  Anybody else notice the BB seems a little faster?  Thank you always to Turnip for organizing the tie.  You guys do a great job.

I want to thank everyone for all the compliments on my Tie pics and a Big Special thanks to Pete for hosting this show. I really enjoyed my time with the Tie and it enjoyed the Sunshine State (liquid sunshine), the weather really put a damper on any attempts at a last minute photo-op so I,m gettin her packed up to send on up to Scotteph. Best of luck to ya Scott.

Thanks for taking us fishing with you, Larry.  It is always nice to see the tie smiling!  Jesse, I will not be taking any sign-ups until October 1, 2009 for the 2010 season, and then those that have never had the tie will have first crack at a slot.  It certainly is great to see the tie getting around the country.  I want to thank everyone who has participated, taken us fishing with them.  I hope folks are getting to know a little about each other as the time goes on and the Tie makes it's rounds.  Good luck to you Scott (should not be any excuses with you booger)!  BTW, muskygirl has started a new tradition and I hope you will take time to check it out and perhaps participate...Another good way to get to know each other!   Fish on!!

I'm starting to think LIP put some bad mojo on the tie. Me and Bruce went to Muddy Run today. I thought, without Pete in the boat we have a good chance of having a good day. Boy was I wrong! Fished for a while with no luck then I finally hooked one on a jerbait, got it to the boat and was ready to land it and it made one final jump and threw the lure. Feeling pretty depressed now not knowing if I'de get another chance just up the bank another one grabbed it but didn't hook-up. This happened one more time before I finally redeemed myself with the pic below. Bruce didn't have any luck. Don't know what was going on as usually this time of year down there we do really well on some big piggys. On a side note, we ran into Ken that I went to the LaCrosse meet with out with his wife and grandkids. Was good to see him as I haven't talked to him in a while. Anyhoo, heres the only fish landed today.

Come on now Scott....thats the saddest face I have ever seen on someone holding a fish.....lololol....hey....there some good points to your month with the tie

    1. You had some nice time on the water

    2. You made new memories

    3. You have fish pictured with the tie

    4. Your not skunked with the tie

    5. You have fished with other NAFC members while having the tie

    6. At least you get to fish for bass this time of the year

All right!  Scott is catching fish, too.  WTG  You guys know what's changed about Lipripper over the years?  He now takes his cell phone fishing with him.  He'll deny it, but I know it's true.  Aside from that it's clear nothing else changes.  Scott this should make you feel better.  I've fished once this year and caught nothing.   Nothing!  and that was at my favorite pond that used to be full of dumb big fish.  Since you caught a couple you are way ahead of me.  Heck!  Casteel and I were supposed to fish a couple of times in the past month and snow got us the first Saturday and a deluge of rain got us on Good Friday.  Your luck is pretty good compared to mine, but I'm headed to a big pond filled with dumb fish in the middle of May.  I'll bring back some pics, but keep up the good work with the tie.

Good luck when you get back out Rodrigo! Well, today was probably the last day for me to fish with the tie and the fishing was so-so at best. Bruce caught four little ones right off the bat but refused to have his picture with the tie. Then I finally got a little one of my own. Then we fished for a while with nothing then shortly before we left I landed the last one, 18 3/4 - 4 1/4#. Both my fish came on jig & pigs. I plan on sending the tie on to stealthfisher on Monday. Good luck with the tie stealthfisher!

    Hey Folks,

I'm Sorry I have been a little busy with things going on at home.  I did get out with the Tie and it definitely gave me good luck.  May was a funny month.  A lot of rain stirring up the water, Cold Temp, Then Hot Temps and back again.  The fish were probably as confused as I was.  I fish alone on my kayak so getting a good picture is very difficult, especially when I am trying to get The fish, The Tie AND me in the picture.  I did get out with my lovely wife on at least one occassion so they are the better shots.  Well here goes.

I hope I left nothing but Good MOJO on the Tie for Chris. I got a couple of strange looks from passersby when I emerged from the water wearing the Tie. I told them it was a good luck charm being passed around the country to some of the nations " Premier Anglers" . I heard one little boy say to his father, " Dad, He must be a very important fisherman!"   It made me feel that way to be able to participate.      Gailann Looks great, doesn't she.  She's battling the worst and still makes time to take care of us and herself AND, She still wants to fish a lot!  Thanks Everyone For the continuous Thoughts and Prayers for Our Family. They are deeply appreciated.

i was only able to get this pic before the rain started and i had to put away the tie and the camera....but the day turned out well caught a lot in the 2- 3 lb range mostly flipping a black /blue fleck chigger craw to wood and buzzing a frog around pads and spatterdock

fathers day was great as well....i took a while trying to decide if i wanted to get more bass gear or get my bow ready to do some bow fishing......the last few times i have been out i have seen more gar and carp than you can shake a stick at....i wound up getting the lures and some stuff to make more spinnerbaits, buzzbaits and chatterbaits..... i just put together a new spinnerbait skirt that resembles the strike king color sexy shad.....it worked great the first trip out

i know i only have a few more days w/ the tie so i think i am going to head out and wade the upper potomac for smallmouth tomorrow and then put the tie in the mail on monday or tuesday

well here were the last two decent bass i caught while in possession of the tie......caught three others but they were smaller had a great fish tied up for a few seconds but he threw the buzz bait when he made an awesome leap.....the plus side... the buzzbait in the pic is one i made and is knocking the tar out of these potomac bass.....

the total for the month is more than 60 bass, most in the 2-3 lb range

Well, I didn't get skunked but that is all I can say!  LOL We had a blast on the water though and that was the best part!  I can honestly say that the weather was the worst I have ever fished in, in my life!  Including the severe thunderstorm including the straight down lightening!

This is a heads up for those new to the "tie" thread and perhaps new to the BB.  On October 1, 2009 I will make a new post for 2010.  When that happens I will take requests from first timers only.  On December 15, 2009 I will open up any available months to everyone on a first come first served basis.  This has been a privilege to corrordinate this activity for the membership.  So, enjoy the rest of your year with the "Tie"!

Great pics Chuck!  I see the ole tie is just a smiling!!   The reason you have the tie early is because the person that WAS scheduled was unable to use it...If you wish to keep it the entire month of Oct. then so be it.  After all, it is your month!  If not then send it along.   Keep me posted if your having trouble communicating with AZAllen.

Good luck Bro and keep them coming!

Red facedly, I have to admeit that the "skunk" was on for me also. I did npt get out as much as I should and when I loaded myself and some of the family up and went out, I must have been the guide "cause they caught all the fish. Better luck ( or skill) to NebebraskaWalleye and those on the 2010 list.

Sorry everyone its been real close to the holidays and have not had much time to be on here I am glad to let you know the package has arrived safe and sound and it is very cool to see everywhere this has been my only regret is that I did not get october cause we just got some massive snow here in the midwest and does not look like its gonna clear this month not even enough to get in on moving water. I will do my best to find a location to be able to fish but if not hey I might just put up a picture of the best catch I have ever had with me in the tie and that would be with my family.

    Sinclerly
