Davesett started this topic on the old BB, maybe it's time to renew it. Maybe it's the vicodin talking but I'm in a hole right now. Was at the Dr. today for a back injury, have to go for an MRI next week and no work untill further notice. Not good! Won't see the Dr. untill the 19th so no work untill then at least. If anyone has anything to get off there chest, have at it. We used to be a close family on here so if anyone has a problem with this topic, too bad. Southeast PA |

I feel for you man. I had a microdiskectomy on L5S1 back in 2001. What a relief it was. After 2 years back to work(custom cabinets/woodworking), I blew it out again, had to have L4L5 and L5S1 fusion. NOT FUN!!! I got out of that trade and into warehouse supervisor then manager before getting laid off back in Oct. 2008. Had a couple of bullshit, employer take advantage of situation, type jobs until Feb this year. Got fired for refusing to clean out a store room that had actual rats' nests(rats are food for snakes, poisonous and non. And there are more than a couple types of each down here in FL). Been doing side jobs like laying laminate floors, painting a house, a few guided snook charters, and selling off some of my surplus gear. Now looking at partially funded schooling in the medical field. Hard times all around. And I just had to pay $311 at vet today for our dog. I'll deny my health before hers. I hope that is not too much steam in one session. Good luck on your back, bro. Does it feel like your sitting on lava rocks and just can't get comfortable, or like there is a hot knife in your spine that is paralizing? Maybe you'll get lucky and therapy or decompression will work for you. (Percocet 7.5 were my salvation) (this is the one that looks most wasted) |

Sorry to hear about your back/no working right now. Hope you get back to your self real soon and that they let you back to work soon. I am still dealing with all my illness issues. I sure am healing really slow and it seems that I'll have soon lingering side effects from the latest issues - oh well. I did go back to work this past week though. So thats one less worry. Can't wait to save up enough money to move soon.

R3. Good luck to you bro. If you are making money with charters, stick to it. Put it in every publication in your area. If you can make money doing what you love, you will never work another day in your life. Good luck. Lifer since 05/08....Ky....Fred |

Thanks for the thoughts everyone. Rallen, sorry to hear what you've been through, hope something steady that you like comes along! Cheri, I hope you feel good enough for the meet coming up! Pete, I'm sure I can do some fishing, I don't think I'de be able to stand for any amount of time though. I'll give ya a hollar when ya get back from Eds. I'm supposed to start physical therapy this coming week. Not looking forward to the mri as I'm pretty claustrophobic. lol Nothing shows up on the x-rays I've had over the years so thats what they want to do. Hope nothing shows up there either. Hopefully my short term disability comes through. Hope everyone is having a great weekend and getting some fishing in! Allright, thats enough hopes! Southeast PA |

MRI's aren't really that bad. I can almost fall asleep during one now. If you keep your eyes closed and use the earplugs, you'll never know you're in a tube. Maybe let them know your 'phobic', most places have 'open' ones for your needs. |

Sorry to hear about your troubles Scott....and the rest of you folks too. My original Black Hole Topic was started basically like this one...in an effort to not only recognize folks that were going through some tough times....but to ALSO give encouragment and even links to places for help. THere's darn FEW of us on here that haven't have troubles of one kind or another...and have gotten DOWN and depressed during those times. Hang TOUGH folks....and even though the Good LORD may call upon you to come home...you'll be going to a better place...and we'll STILL love AND think of you here. Here's MY little story of depression and the NAFC... Back in late 2000 I had a DUI in California. I had broken up with a girlfriend in Feb of that year....then started working in a different department at work....moved to another rented room...etc....ALL within less than a year. I didn't know where my life was going...and was depressed and confused. I discovered the Club here...and in particular...the Forums here...and started spending time on here. I got to know folks like joda911, Rod Tender, lipripper, Doc, papa_d, getdanet1, oauchitabassangler, walleye king #1. Then MORE folks came along, like turnip, canepole, Lazarus, suwanneepaul, Ray White, dawsonb, sugarcreekangler, RT8fish, johneed, scotteph, muskygirl, retiredpsg... The list goes on...and ON....and ON. Joining this Club...and becoming a Member of the BB here....is in the top 5 BEST decisions I've made of my life. ANd chatting...AND meeting folks from here....has been a TRUE Blessing in my life. I hope that it is one for you folks too Life Member David BB Linkmeister US Army '78-'85 West Central Wisconsin |

bum, do you own the complex? I would think the owner has insurance for damages. Not to question you, but are you just getting screw'd here. I could see having you pay for personal property, maybe, but not drywall, carpet, cabinets, ect... Good luck with it. |

Thanks Dave! Hope you don't mind me restarting this but it was always a good place to get something off your chest. Fred, that sounds pretty bad! Thanks LIP. Your right, we do joke with each other allot but above that we do care about each other and like to keep in touch. Still waiting on the Dr.'s office to call and let me know if my insurance will cover the mri? My work insurance is a joke. The back is lossening up some so it dosen't really feel like disk pain so much as muscle pain at this point. That's a good thing. The Dr. has said in the past that there are signs of arthritis in my back so I'm not sure if that had any effect on what happened or not?

Sorry for bringing this up and not following through. Not sure anyone cares or not. lol I did have the MRI and yes I had to come out of it for a minute half way through to calm my nerves. The results for the MRI are a bulging disk,L5 and degenerative disk disease. The Dr. said I will never be able to do any hard physical labor the rest of my life. lol Yeah right! He gave me an adjustment and some trigger point injections and I gotta see him every three months unless it gets worse. I did talk him into letting me return to work so that is a good thing! Thanks everyone for checking up on me, I appericiate it! So whos next?

Well I'm Back after being AWOL for 2 weeks LOL.To start out my wife made my B-day great by buying me a Plano tackle bag (even though she told me I better not buy anymore fishing stuff!!)I've been looking at for about a month and then throwing kind of a late fathers day and Birthday party for me.We had alot of fun..So all the Bad Sh*t started the next morning.I grabbed my fishing poles to find that the cat chewed the line off of them both, when I went fishing I pulled one of the 3500 series stowaway boxes out of my new bag and the latches wouldn't snap tight and I lost about a dozen soft plastic worms, lizards and 3 Rapala lures in to the drink. So I just went home, seeing that my day could get worse. After closer inspection of the stowaway it wouldn't snap closed due to poor quality which was a surprise being from Plano,I opened it up to find MADE IN CHINA No surprise!!!I have two 3500 series boxes that I bought separately and there great they snap closed like there supposed to and made in the USA.The latches will not stay latched no matter what I do.I will be letting Plano know about those cheap boxes. Then I went to get on the computer to stop in here and contact Plano I found out that our Internet was down and has been down until yesterday. If you make a good product 1 sure fire way to screw it up is to let china build them for ya!!!!! Started working at a small machine shop 25 years ago. Went from pushing a broom to running the place in several years. The owner was a great man. Not just a teacher and leader in the machining industry, but in life. Don`t meet folks like that everyday, maybe once or twice in your life. He became my best friend over the years. He will be missed. He passed on last year. His family is not keeping the biz open. Decissions will be made on the biz before this week is over. My world has been kinda upside down for the last year because of this. Almost a sense of relief that it`s about over. Almost. |

Mike I remember when you first mentioned this and I still feel bad for ya. I know how the work thing is, 16 years at my shop and july is it for us. 80 year ole owner is hanging it up, 50 people without jobs as of july. I truly feel your pain. |
