this thread was started on another forum and has been a huge hit for the last couple of years. it not only helped other members meet, but showed folks that would be shy or afraid to ask for new fishing partners. anyhoo was a great thread and thought I'd post it up here to see how it goes.
I'll start just off the top of my head.....
stgfish , would love to get after those bass with him
catmandu, would love to fish the sippi with ole troy
ice cube bob, met him once and would love to do some catfishing with him.
ERABBIT, just to finally meet him. |

Tough question Eric! I have "met" so many interesting folks on the forums. My choices in no particular order would be (but not limited to) : Turnip and Wellsley on the same trip, Prober, Diojisdad and Bassbum. Duckman got left offf cause I expect to hook up with him over the summer. Oh, and how could I forget the Fishy Godmother? Tom |

Well pegsguy it would be my pleasure. All you got to do is come to the fingerlakes meet and you get your wish. I was stuck in Chicago at ohara airport Saturday for 4 hours. So I guess I was pretty close. The question is a tough one because I like to fish with most everyone. But if I had to narrow it down to one or two (that I haven't already fished with) it would be Walleye King # 1 and WalleyeWayne I've been chating with them for years and feel like I know them. When I finally met and fished with erabbit and turnip it was like I new them for years and not meeting them for the first time. There are so many good people here. |

Oh, and how could I forget the Fishy Godmother? Tom
Thanks so much Tom - I feel so honored.
It would be hard to choose - I have fished with soooo MANY members already and Hope To get the chances to fish with so many more (including you Tom).
I would have to say to finally get to met, badger, woo2, wellsley, rabbit, kinger, walleye wayne, ice cube, ChrisG, AJ......heck everyone - lol - it's just to hard to narrow it down to just a couple/few.
I would like to get to fish with JustDave again too. |

been to 2 UP meets, but I have to go back and fish with Skycop and Geno, because I never actually got to fish with them. I'd like to fish with that big old Yellow Bear sometime and one of these years I will make it to LaCrosse |

I have to agree with you. I've been to both the La Crosse and Gwinn Meets...and even held a mini-Meet here in Wisconsin at the Chippewa Flowage in Sept 2008...and it hasn't really mattered who I been able to fish with...as I enjoyed fishing with everyone up until this point...and look forward to fishing with a lot more folks in the coming years.
LOTS of experienced....and just plain fun....folks on here and in the Club in general. |

I would have to say I would like fishing with all NAFC members if I could. I have been to one NE meet, all La Crosse, WI. meets since 2005, and the Chippewa Flowage get together in 2008 with Davesett2000 and all others there. And this year I went to a meet in Kansas at El Dorado Lake. I should be at the La Crosse, WI. 2010 meet as well. I have had a good time at them all. I learned things from others, and taught others things too. And doing on site rod and reel repairs for members at any meets helps bring me closer to others as well. I have only met one NAFC member person [won't mention who] that I really did not like, but will continue to be nice to them whenever we happen to be fishing at the same meet. |

stgfish and catmandu have both offered to go fishing with me in mo just havent been able to hook up at a time that was convienent to both of us.eric you would get my vote turnip and pegsguy for great lake fishing (tom i know we are going to meet up at the end of july for a little bit but im talking spending 2-3 days getting out on the big pond) i have fished in kentucky with sam bush and if his health gets better we are planning on doing it agin. kurt beckstrom gets my vote for his overall knowledge and all his help he has provided me. i did get to spend a couple hrs talking fishing with steve pennanz before i joined the club. he got in the nite before i flew out of lake huites in mexico and we spent a good coupla hrs talking fishing. there are others also but i want to clear my list before it gets too long or at least trim it down to a more manageable size. havent been to any meets yet but only because with my limited vacation time i spend some with my wife ( she doesn't fish ) and with my dad the rest of the time. hes 81 and wont be around many more years so im trying to get out with him as much as possible. ( tom you'll get to meet him in july ) so hopefully i can get to meet and fish with each and everyone of one at some point in time |

Wow Eric, this is a tuffie! I have fished with, met and laughed with so many members...Broken bread with and prayed with...I have made many, many new life long friends. So I'll confine my answer to those I have not met yet. Walleye Wayne, Yellow Bear and ICBob top off my list. I would love to wet a line with JustDave...Some day I'll get to Alaska and fish with members there. I would love to get to Texas, lots of "good ole boys" down there! I certainly would like to spend some time with Woo2...So many to choose from! I hope no one will feel slighted. I have often stated that I wish we could all meet-up at the same time & place! |

I'd like to fish with any member. It seems really hard,as duckman pointed out,to get anything coordinated.I guess if I had to pick in order,I would have to go with.... ...retired-psg-------Smallie fishing up north Eric---------for some West Virginia Carpin' Turnip---------PA Walleye fishing Muskygirl---------Upper Mississippi Catfishin'..... ......Not to leave anyone out,but whoever I could hook up with at anytime would be great. |

In no order.
Pegsguy. We keep in touch, and he has local ties.
Turnip & Wellsley. The way those two go back and forth with one another, who wouldn't want to be in a boat with them guys.
Diojisdad. Like the name. Bass or Bass. Thats an obvious one. Stgfish. I almost had the chance to fish with him this year, but a change of schedule put an end to that. All of the KY members. One of these days maybe. Last but not least, Davesett2000. If it wasn't for him, I might have never realized what this site was all about.
I'm sure I'm leaving people out, but you know who you are. |

If we could get everyone in one place, I doubt one week would be enough. Probly more like 2-3! I think a member with the willingness to travel could meet a good portion of the active members by hitting the bigger meets, LaCrosse, Finger Lakes, Ohio and maybe Gwinn. One of the Illinois BSA councils puts together an outing in Galena Il that draws upwards of 12,000 scouts and adult scouters. Can you imagine that many fishermen in one place? |
