I rec'd the tie from Salmonking yesterday. For those that don't know. I started this tie, regifting several years ago. Members volunteer to host the tie for a month. Once they get it, they take it fishing. On that trip, they take a picture with the tie and a fish. After that you post the pic of you and the tie on the NAFC site and then send it along to the next volunteer. Members added another twist, each volunteer would send the next one a little gift. Initiially, Lipripper volunteered to schedule who was going to receive the tie. Then Turnip scheduled who was going to receive the tie. We're currently on the second tie. The first one was blue and disappeared a couple of years ago. We've got a brown one now and it arrived with a listing of the people who rec'd it since July 8th, 2009.
So who wants to host the tie in 2012? I'll organize it, if you tell me the month you want it. We'll do this on a first come first served basis. In the past, we've allowed folks who've never had the tie get it in preference for those that have hosted before, but I'm not going to be that picky this year. I've got it in January and I've seen some others interested. Stealthfisher says he wants it in April or May.
Let me know. |

I am doing fine, trying to get my fishing schedule back on track! The wife is still recovering from the accident from last (2010) December, but I think I may be out of the woods! |

My son and I fished a pond at the camp he goes to in the summer. It's loaded with bass and nice size bluegill. Last year, they built another pond below it and it hasn't been stocked. In October, a buddy and I fished it and moved 53 bass from the original pond to the new one. On Friday, my son and I moved 43 bass and 10 bluegills from the old pond to the new one. The fishing was pretty good. He caught the big fish at 17" It's the one we're holding. The pond is stunted with the average bass at 10.65 inches and the average bluegill at 7.75. We'd catch the fish toss them in a cooler and when we had 15 or so, move them to the other lake.
Above -
My son, Kaden, holding his bass at the old pond.
Above - holding it again at the new pond.
This is me, holding Kaden's fish. I wish all fishing trips were that successful. I gotta say this was one hell of a late winter fishing day. We were in shorts and t-shirts nearly all day. It felt like late April or early May. I'm hoping the fish we put in the new pond spawn, and the fish in the old pond grow bigger!

Hi, I received the Tie and have had it out on two occasions so far. On the first outing at the James River in Virginia I caught a Largemouth and a Smallmouth Bass and the next day I had the triple play, catching a nice size Bowfin, a chunky Bluegill and a nice SmallMouth Bass. Seems the Tie has brought me good luck on the water with my first ever Virginia Smallie and Bowfin. I still have plenty of time to post some good pics with the tie. I will hopefully put up pictures soon. |

Hi Mark, I tried sending you a PM, but for some reason it shows no record of it. I wanted to use the PM but have to settle for all to see. My message was as follows. Sorry I haven't been very vocal about my time with the NAFC tie. A lot has been going on at home lately. After an eight year battle with cancer, my wife of 24 years died in early April. I have been going through an emotional rollercoaster. I was able to get out with the tie on more than a few occasions. I was even able to get my daughters into the act (and some pictures). I will post some reports and possibly a video or two I made with it. I want to thank you for letting me participate in the NAFC Tie contest. It was also great talking to you on the phone a while back. If you can, can you PM me the next partipant's address and I will send the tie out Priority Mail on Tuesday along with a goodie bag. You may have already have given it to me but to help expedite things, it may help. Thanks again for everything. Dan "Stealth" Doc |

I hate to say it but this site can be frustrating at times. Why does it put my replies twice the size of the screen where you need to scroll across to read it all? Is there Anything I can do to stop this? I don't me to sound negative, But some things need some attention like My Pm typing box has had a bunch of characters blocking the screen for months which makes it very difficult to see what I am typing. One other question, Does a person your trying to send a PM to have to somehow " Allow" you to do so before you can send them one? This may not be the spot to send this and for that I appologize. |

The NAFC TIE is on the move again!
It is in the Mail stream as we speak. Mo should be receiving it hopefully on Friday.
I will also be sending the name list and something special as well soon, but figured at least get you the Tie first. Good Luck Mike |
