I went fishing on a Pontoon.  Just made coffee.  As I was holding the cup getting ready to take a drink, I got a bite.  Instead of putting down the coffee cup, I grabed my pole.  I was wearing shorts.  Hot coffee spilled all down my legs.  when I got the fish close to the Pontoon I seen I had a Catfish on the line, he got loose.

I learned to try not to get so exited, or buy a coffee cup with a lid. Or maybe don't drink coffe while fishing!

    Welcome to the Forums

The phrase "life's learned lessons" comes to mind

MANY members (including me!) have had similar stories over the years  gotta wonder if any of them will reply

More Arizona iced teas than I would like to admit have fallen over as a result of the chaos that ensues when I've gotten bites in the past. I feel your pain, tclemons1, I really do (And I usually lost the fish too, I think theres a relationship between the two events!)

Don't Drink and fish at the same time solves that. If drinking, use only live bait pole. See a bite put down drink , then grab ole and jerk.

If fishing artificial, then bring in your bait. take a drink, then put drink down and then go back to Fishing.
