OK Guys, lets continue the adventures of the tie here, since the other thread is having technical difficulties. Here is the current schedule for the tie:  June and July-----mo65
                      August------------ERABBIT
                      September-------turnip

If anyone else is interested in hosting the tie just post here and we'll get you on the schedule.

Today was my first outing with the tie in tow, I didn't set the lake on fire, but I didn't get skunked either. I caught three small bass on a Bomber Squarebill in baby bass pattern. lost three more, and one of them was a good one. Guess its time to sharpen some hooks! Pay no attention to how small the fish looks in the photo...its an illusion... the tie is huge...like 5 feet long...

I can vouch for MO65, the tie is about 5' long... when compared to some fish. I had a bass the other day that was regular size, but made the tie, if I'd had it, about 12 feet long. That tie is amazing. Keep up the good work!

Hee hee...thanks for the vote of confidence Rodrigo. The bass were on the puny side today, but I have time to get some better ones while I have the tie. I may take it along for some catfishing too.

Got out with the tie again today...the weather man was hollerin' rain...and the old boy got it right this time. It came down in buckets! At least I got turnip's secret stinkbait washed off the tie. I caught 6 bass though, so it wasn't a total washout. This first shot is me and the tie...ready to wet a line!

This is the first fish...it was just starting to rain......got it on a Strike King Mini-King spinnerbait.

Raining a little harder now......had to break out the hat. Caught this one on a watermelon/red flake MightyBug.

Raining straight down now...but they were still biting...where's the rest of this one?

About 3 o'clock the skies dried up...but so did the bite! This last shot pretty well sums up the situation.

I took the tie to a new lake today, Lake White in Waverly, Ohio. I'm not wasting my time with those stupid Google maps and Mapquest anymore...what looked like good shore access from 30,000 feet turned out to be a tangle of brush and briars! All those "no fishing" and "no parking" signs aren't visible in those satellite shots either.I didn't stick around there long...was gone before nine o'clock. Went somewhere I could fish, Scioto Trails, about 20 minutes up the road. The tie and I ate a sandwich and got back to business.Ended up with four bass, a crappie, and one trout. My first trout on a crankbait!Crankbaits and spinnerbaits were the ticket today. Hoping to get the tie on some better fish soon.SmileyCentral.com

I didn't know Grizzly Adams was in possession of the tie? LOL, Just kidding Mike..looking good bud. Don't give up on the maps Mike..there for reference, you still have to be on the ground and do a good recon of the area...which you did...nice catches though...you and the tie were made for each other!

Thanks for all the compliments guys...appreciate it. Hey Vito, check this out: It was hot on that last outing, so the tie and I stopped off for a cold one on the way home. I walked up to the bar...pulled out two chairs...sat in one and threw the tie into the other. The bartender says "what will it be?" and I said "A bud light and keep 'em coming 'till he runs outta money!" as I pointed at the tie. When he caught his breath he said "good one buddy...this one's on the house!" Having a ball with this crazy looking tie! You should see the looks people give when they go past a guy fishing in a tie!

Whew! Today was forecast as the hottest day of the year so far(102 degrees)...but when I woke up at 5am it sure looked good outside. I decided to take the tie to the swamp for some frog action. Usually by this time of year the duckweed is starting to cover the surface...and it was right on cue. The wind was blowing it toward the north bank, which made a nice long edge line, perfect to work a spinnerbait before I started tossing a frog into the soup. The first cast was a missed strike...but the third hooked a nice fat 16 incher. Then I picked up the frog rod and the action was even faster...mostly short fish but a few good ones...one was 15 inches. I lost count of the 6 to 8 inch fish that busted that frog. Must be last years spawn...great news...I was worried the swamp was fading. Looks like the next few years may be promising!

    Turnip,
Its one of those new Booyah Pad Crashers...they have a really soft body that collapses very easy. This frog has the best hook-up ratio of any I've fished, and we all know how hook-ups go with frogs! Here's a link to them:  http://www.lurenet.com/brands/booya...ad-crasher   I noticed they are currently out of most colors(duh...it is frog fishing season) so here's a pic of the color I was using.

Hey guys...the frog bite is ON here......went to the swamp again this morning. Starting to get the tie on some bigger fish now...picked up a 16.5 inch and a 19 inch, had a few others hooked but they shook off. One of the was the biggest bass I've had on this season! I got so fired up I forgot to put on the tie, but it was right there, watching from the passenger seat in the van.

Here's the 19 incher, I love that sound when they blast through the duckweed to clobber a topwater frog!

Here are some pics of the "swamp" I fish...this is where the big girls live...the tough part is getting them out!

Still hot here...but I figured I better get on them while they've got the feed bag on...fished from 5am to about 9am...and was sweating when I left! This time the frog bite was a little weak, only picked up two shorties on it, so I tied on a big Yum Mightee worm and gave it a heave. bagged the 15 inch and 17 inch pictured below. Can't speak for the tie...but I'm having a blast!

Howdy sports fans......The tie seen a little more action this morning. We still have high temps here, so I started at 5am to beat the heat. The weather clown says a high of 103 today...I'll never see it...I was back home by 9am! I caught seven bass, hooked this first one on the second cast with a black musky Jitterbug. I love the way it scares you half to death when they bust a 'bug.

    Photobucket

This one ate the frog...its still in his mouth...but you can't see it in this pic!

The sun popped over the trees, and lit this pic up. This one hit the frog too.

I read a post on some forum that a guy had some big bites at high noon...in this heat. Against my better judgement, I decided to cash in myself. Hmm...it went about like I thought it would......I caught four shorties, all about the same size as the monster I'm admiring below. It was way too hot for a jacket and tie...so I just went with the tie!

Well I made it out with the tie on the 30 .......here is a little run down............

    Seneca 7/30/2012

Been awhile good to get back out on the water..............tad late ( Kinger slept in...... ) start ran south and to the west side................set up and picked a small rainbow up 8" to 10" down 61' .........same rod later down 71' picked up a 15" rainbow .......... 71' same spoon then later a 20.5" brown just over 5# boxed him............... then two lakers one at 71' and the other at 81' UV spoon by DW... 22" 3.5# and 24" 4 #.........boxed them and called it a day................... broke a rod on the first fish , lost three and some how split/ring and hook came off one of the spoons again...........geeesssshhhh some weird stuff this year.................only me I guess.............

I didn't take any picture of the ones I put back in the water just the three I boxed.........

    20.5" brown.....

    22" laker..............

    24" laker......

    the tally for the day........

my ugly mug with a NOT so good picture I took......

I'm back home now in Pa. for a while so the tie is hanging on the wall at camp waiting to go do it all again..........

    Thanks FFFisch.........

What a day !!!!!!  After Ron came over we went down to give it a go I was getting rods out spoons ready then I took the tie out and hung it on the CC ..........Ron said  " What the heck is that thing you going all supertisous (sp?) on me or what " , then I told him the story.................I think he's out buying a TIE now !!!!!!!...............

Quick run down pictures to come..................

We ran south watching the weeds as we went didn't look REEL bad so after a bout 5 to 6 miles we set up going south..........that didn't last more than a 1/2 mile ran into thicker weeds so spund around and went north..........picked up two short browns , then banged a big smallmouth, three lakers lost some thing GOOD fish we never saw picked a 5+ # brown, boxed a thrid laker , lost a HUGE brown at the back of the boat and boxed another brown around 20" was in the weeds again so we just pulled last line and called it a day............... mix of spoons but UV was hot after the sun w{1}****oday , 71' for the lakers and the last brown , 51' for the 5# brown , 61' for some small browns that big smallmouth and the huge brown ........all spoons , all rigger only three rods........lazy for sure !!!!!!! .......but it was fun..............

    Ron with the SMB.....

    Me with 5#+ brown.......

    Ron working a laker in..............

Ron with dinner and a nice pair of browns............

    Thanks mo65........

We got back out today , Carol on vacation and got a needed later get up so we hit the water after 9:30am and pulled lines at 11:30ish. Carol took the first fish a nice laker , we were just playing CPR today but had a cooler of ice in case one got hurt bad...........

then we picked up a small lker and Carol told me she HAD to have a picture of me with a small fish as folks at the FLM have been trying for YEARS to get one so I hope everyone is happy now...........

Then we hooked up with a nice brown.........

Then one more after a good fight.......

by then it was HOT no wind so we pulled lines and came in cover boat and got some thing to eat............

The tie is still around I've having so issues getting back on the water here is some what of a run down.

    8/11/2012

Spent about 4 or so hours with new cannon riggers wiring them to work on my OLE tin lizzy , then mounting them......differnt style mout than what I had on the boat........still have to water try them......

    8/12/2012

After putting on the riggers yesterday we ( Carol and I ) figured we would plan out and install the SmartPilot X-5R I bought off Frisco ........ 6 hours a bit of rain and we had to quit trying to talk myself into going out and see if I can complete it today..... ;( ....... I made a few DUMB mistakes and she let me go  .......then when I had to take it back apart .......... well ......anyway .......

    .............

    8-14 - 2012

Went back out today , working on a wiring problem.........check out USED part of mine I put in.................found a break in the ground wire ..............cut it ....re-did the connections.......POWER _ UP :yes::yes: ....... did a quick run thru and it resonds to the -1 and -10 in Auto .......so a few more treaks and should be good to go !!!!!!

    8-16-2012

.........coffee is being made , ice in cooler and KING is a wake so we'll be going down to give all the changes ago in a bit !!!!

    .......
    GeeSSShhhHHH !!!!!!
Well I have no idea how or if it works.........got down to launch put boat in went to start her up started some what hard ????? When I got it going tryed giving it gas.............nothing............back on trailer came back to camp.........checked her out.......linkage cable BROKE clean off inside......calling Barretts to see if they have a new one...... ;(
    ........
.....almost went out with the kicker just to check the Auto-pilot and riggers............called up Barretts and they had ONE cable so I ran up with Hoot and got it.............came back down and put it in..........buttoned her up and Hoot, Kinger and I went back down to the launch............boat in water , three rods out with spoons , nets in place, Kinger and Hoot in boat .....shove off......GGGeeessSShhhh!!!!! it will not go in gear...............musta messed that up when I had the whole shifter box out............back on trailer and back up.............tore it back out found my mistake and had to do a bit of ADJUSTMENT with a small hammer and old screwdiver........back togather and it works ON LAND........ just getting to OLD for this stuff , covered her up and will give it a go in the am..............

    ''''''''
    8-17-2012

we got out for a bit today..... have some motor issues yet after talking to OSHARPSAW on the phone yesterday think I have some vacume lines cracked...............anyway the new riggers go 3 X as fast as the old mag 10a's worked great...........Just messed wit AP a bit seemed to over work it self but after reading some more in the book that can be adjusted............... So Hoot and eye hit the water and fished till the HEAVEY WNW wind came up and could not hold a good couse was pulling things up when Carol called and said rain was on its way from the west so in we went..........picked up a brown on K.O.S. with green cup that Bob painte up for me and one small laker and a hit and miss also on one of his spoons not sure of the name of this but its the same one I had the spilt-ring problem with..............40' down for the brown ( have no idea why he was in that soup but fished the marks ) and 65' for the laker and hit and miss...............

Put the laker back with out a picture but got some of Hoot back at camp with the brown....

    same fish differnt angle....

    Got back out today................

    Seneca 8/20/2012

Kinger and I got a late start today but it turned out fine. After I got the boat in the water and started it up it was barely pissing………shut her down and ran wire in without any better results……. We took off anyway but stayed on this side of lake. Set up and made a north troll into and out of weeds off and one for over a mile……picked up one good smallmouth bass in that mess. We ended up with 3 browns , 3 lakers , 1 bow and lost three……..
got back to camp pulled cover off motor and sure enough I had the hosed pinched ...... :lipssealed: .... :whew:

    Image

Kinger was NOT impressed by that SMB......

Thanks guys.......they TIE ROCKED today first fish was a HOG !!!!!!

    Seneca 8/21/2012

Kinger and I got a good start today boat ran GOOD ……we ran up to the clean water we found yesterday started DEEP and worked in to rut out some browns. The area was somewhat weedier than yesterday but fishable. We had some marks and bait but could not get them to fire then after the third spoon change BUBBA ( 24” male just over 8#) hit great fight and somewhat iffy wheather I could get him in the net. What a hog , bleeding from taking the spoon deep so I boxed him……….worked the area for three more passes picked a small 18” bow up put him back and lost a good brown came in to fast and he went crazy at the boat in the air two times with the second on the charm for him last pass came up empty and I still want to look for some landlocks so I move on…….picked up two lakers and a small brown after that to two hits without hooking up……. King said it was WAY past time to quit so I did……………..LOL…….. Big brown was WAY out of temp in the soup at 73* down 41’ !!!!!!!
The tie still ROCKS !!!!!

I hear ya Ed...I've posted pics on other sites with the tie in them...and someone always says "Hey...ain't that the fishin' tie"? We are entertaining the idea of a fishing tie at Outdoor-Fishing...or possibly something different...maybe a "fishing hat" or a "fishing shirt".

Oh that is funny. Somebody went out and bought another tie to take fishing? When my buddy gave me that tie, I knew there'd be no way I'd ever wear it to work, but taking it fishing seemed pretty funny. Now other clubs are thinking of doing it. They've definitely got my blessing. Any time I see a picture of people fishing with a tie, it cracks me up. I think it's great. BTW I had to copy and paste the link.

Hey guys, sorry I've been MIA..I've been stranded at the docks all last week with bad weather..way to windy to be out on the boat..Yesterday I finally had a break. Went out to the inlet to fish the breakers for striped bass. Nothing doing..except a big ol' sea robin. Afterwards, back at the docks..I was teaching a friend of mine how to cast an 8ft cast net. Unintentionally, I caught 2 schoolie stripers! LOL Uploaded from the Photobucket Android AppUploaded from the Photobucket Android App

My plan for today was to fish the back bay early for striped bass...I headed out at 5am...It was way too windy and choppy...I tried to look for bait (bunker), found them in several spots, but they were down deep...too deep to net. So I drifted some cut bait with no hits...Once the sun came up, I headed to a blackfish spot. Lost a lot of rigs and only caught a few shorts...Sorry about the tie...it was in my tackle bag, with the wind blowing the way it was...I didn't want to risk it blowing away.

Awesome! Those are fun fish to catch. we have landlocked stripers around here, and they take the bait and run like hell. I can only imagine what the salt water fish do. Great pics!

Hey Vitoski...b or b is already signed up for November. Since the PM system in this cesspool never works...just get his addy on that other site...you know...the one that makes you smile.
