I am writing this on behalf of my husband (41) who is an avid fisherman.  He'd fish 24/7 if he could - his grandfather was an avid fisherman.  We recently moved here (Surprise) from the West Michigan area in November and he's really missing the Michigan fishing.  He's fished at the lake/pond in Surprise, Rio Vista Park in Peoria and Encanto Park.  He doesn't have a boat so his access to the bigger lakes is extremely limited.  He's been wanting to fish Lake Pleasant but hasn't had an opportunity yet.  He would prefer being able to get out away from the boats and stuff - right now we can't afford the fishing charter services that are available at Lake Pleasant.  If there's anyone out there who would be willing to be a fishing partner to take him to some great fishing spots, that would be great.  He usually fishes for bass, trout, blue gill, etc.

Hi and welcome to Arizona . I usually fish Lake Pleasant but can only get away about every 4 to 6 weeks . I have a small group of  3 regular fishing partners so there's always a waiting list to go out . I have been trying to get local members interested in meeting and having a fishing outing at any of the area lakes but to no avail . See my posts at "possibility of starting a mulit species fishing club or group " and "NAFC Arizona chapter ". Last September I caught the largest freshwater fish of my life at Pleasant , a 25# flathead cat . Help me pester the local members and maybe we can get a fishing meeting and outing together . By the way , my ex was a WMU alimnus.     Happy fishing.

Man if I only had a boat, Id love to get a fellow transplanted snowbird out on the water. The fishin here is different than back east. we are spoiled, here ya gotta work @ it. I did finally get some decent fish in pipeline canyon on pleasant, but it was from shore, & had to hike thru some hairy stuff to get there. "gorilla fishin" I call it. get hubby in a belly boat to get @ some good areas on pleasant, but during the week as there are alot of rec boaters on the water on the weekends. topwaters for wipers & stripers are working, dropshotting for bass. I have been snorkeling there too. I saw some VERY large bass hovering in the trees. they refuse to bite anything. I think its a nite bite for them. big swimbaits {wakebaits}& big worms.  look out for donkeys. they bite.
