O.K. folks here's the deal. I don't know how many times I've hit Arivaca lake in the last year and come up empty handed.  But there is always some guy hanging out by the launch ramp saying people have been pulling 10 pounders out all day. Then I ask around, and everybody says they haven't caught a thing. My brother has managed to yank a couple using a jerkbait and a plastic frog, but zip for me. I just want someone to confirm some kind of success at this lake, or I won't waste any more of my time. Oh, by the way, last time I was down there someone side-swiped my jeep and left. So if it was you and you see my silver jeep liberty again, please hit the other side so it matches. Thanks.

My husband and I have been going to Arivaca every so often during the past year. Each time, nothing but have seen maybe one or two others catch a little one. Then on 6/27/09, we went there and not even an hour into fishing my husband cathes two 2-3lbs and then I finally was catching some. all in all we caught ( 2-3 lbs 12-16in each then I got the motherlode, a 24.5in large mouth, did not have a scale but good est. is no less than 11 lbs. This is not normal and others on the water were amazed at the catch. they could hear my excitment across the water. It was amazing and yes i have pictures.

From what I have heard Arivaca is one of those lakes that takes some work to figure out, and then it changes.  One of the Tucson Bass Club guys told me he has had some awesome days there, and a lot of days figuring it out to have those few awesome days.  He also said that a pattern doesn't seem to hold up there for more than a few days once you figure one out.
