I moved away from Phoenix a few years ago, but I fished Lake Pleasant a lot. Caught the two biggest bass of my life there, 12# and 9#. I caught them while sitting on the marina (next to the gas pumps). I was jigging w/ a water dog (salamander looking thing). Also, caught a lot of channel cat while fishing with a worm off the bank along the far Northwest corner of the lake. You may also try Bartlett Lake. I have had a lot of success Crappie fishing there along the docks. Hope that helps. Sorry, I couldn't be there to show you. Good luck.

I caught my pb flathead cat at Pleasant, a 25 pounder. Channel cat fishing there, I recommend Castle Creek arm, Humbug Cove, or the river. Definitely the river for flatheads.
I rarely go to any other lakes, simply because Pleasant is closest, and it takes far less fuel for me to get there than anywhere else. I was there 9 days ago. It'll be a while before I get out again. Finances!

With all the rain I hope you stay dry. Be sure to stay off the water when the monsoon storms roll in. You're holding a lightning rod in your hands! Happy fishing.

i had a great trip. my gas motor needs help but my electric was really all i needed. total for the weekend 56 rainbows. sprinkle some corn and use yellow or green powerbait in 25 to 30 feet of water. yellow power eggs bacame the fave though and i was cathing 2-3 per bait. stocking every tuesday now, but the bad thing all 14 inches or less and not a brown in site. all in all a great trip. only had rain on the first day after that it only got better. one trip out two people 26 fish landed.

sure wish the heat would die down. really want to get out to pleasant. its no to far and it holds all kinds of fish. really need my gas motor though. i think its in the carb but i am a vehicle and semi mechanic and boat motors are not my forte. looks like i may be moving to payson within about a year. that would be awesome. if i get caught up on bills i could probably do some work on my motor. i really want to go do some night fishing at pleasant. with my recent stress level i could use to hook into a huge cat or striper. the urban lakes are not stocking till the end of the month and i am getting restless as hell. about another month and i get to see if i can break my record from last year on urban trout. 4 lbs 21 inches. i love trout fishing. it has to be my alltime favorite.
