Hey all... wanting to plan a fishing trip somewhere new, or at least somewhere I haven't been in a long while. I have a 16' aluminum boat with a 9.9 Johnson and a 40 lb thrust bowmount trolley motor. I had a 25hp that came with the boat, but traded that in for the 9.9 recently after learning most lakes in southern Az have a 10hp restriction. Pretty lame, seems you can get a much higher hp outboard for the same cash as a 9.9 just due to the restrictions it seems. Anyway, that's the extent of my gripes for this post... I've been spending a lot of time at Pena Blanca, but have grown bored of the trout fishing. I have a tackle box full of soft plastics, crankbaits, jerk baits, spinners, spoons, creature baits, jigs... etc all designed for bass, but have yet to hook up to one yet. I hear a lot about the spawn season, but I'm still pretty much in the dark when it comes to bass behavior. What do you guys recommend? Where and when do you fish? What have you had good luck with in the past? Thanks for your help.

I would suggest two or three things, look at earlier posts, several others do fish Patgonia on a somewhat regular basis so read their posts. If there is any sort of tackle store or fishermans hangout, talk to people and learn to use the lures. That sounds simple but is often overlooked. Check any magazine articles on how to use the lures and practice. A couple other websites (free) are azbasszone and yumabassman. I might start with yuma, lots of "how too's" there. Use the links on the NAFC site to get to information sources. And even hit the web browser and just hit a subject, might come up with all sorts of descriptions and even you-tube videos on the subject.

Good luck and thanks for the kind response to my January post.
