On my second tour of duty at NAS LeMoore 1976-79 I fished Cortright and Forebay and did real well on Panther Martin sonic spinners. Black body with yellow spots. You may want to give them a try. Good luck Cletus.

I am switching to flyfishing. Heading to the upper kings river for some fat trout.

Fly fishing is the WAY to go for those upper kings trout. My largest trout on a 2 wt rod with 7X tippet went 22" and it was caught on a size 22 zebra midge I tied myself and drifted under an indicator. I'd tell you the exact spot, Jeremy, then I'd have to, well, you know the rest of the statement. I always plan an early May trip to Wishon with the family and usually do very well. it opens around the first weekend in May, about 2 - 3 weeks before the road to Courtwright.

I think I was there for that day. We all caught PB fish that trip. I am willing to head that way once the weather clears up and not a lot of snow.

The lakes up there are only doing so-so right now. The road to Courtwright still isn't open as of today due to snow. Maybe by this coming weekend. I look forward to hitting the Sierra creeks/rivers when they finally slow their flows.
