I'm ready. Pay lakes are definitely worth the fee. Irvine Lake will be wide open this season, as an O.C. resident my chances for catching a monster are great. As for County lakes, San Diego's lakes will be stocked sparingly by the state starting in December, but worth the drive. |

I am sorry... I am not paying to fish Santa Ana, Irvine, Corrona. Those lakes are outragous in their pricing. Maybe if you were to go there by yourself that is fine. But if you were to take the family... Then on top of that, kids can only catch 3 trout!! Sorry, I will take my chances else where and spend less and still have fun and catch fish. |

Is it wrong to spend money to take the family fishing? I even pay for the dogs entry. I hate having a boat sit in the back yard when there are biggens to be caught

Dont get me wrong, I will spend $ to take my sons fishing. But when these places are charging $20 per person, $12 to launch a boat, $7 for your car... That right there would be over a bill for my family, not to mention the gas, food and other things thrown in. I can hit a lake down the freeway, pay $4 to get in and do the same as I would in those places. Also, if I am correct, Corrona will not let you bring your own boat anymore. |

Then start listing these SoCal $4.00 fishing holes, help the guys out, instead on bagging on the high dollar mud holes.

S.D., there are a few of them real close. I would fish them while I was down there at school for the Navy at North Island. Let me find my old maps and I will send you a PM. I do know Lake Dixion it a big trout stocker for the season. I will also give you the website I went to (if still up). |

Just ordered Spawn sack material from Jenns Netcraft, will be hitting local Lake Cauhilla for sure, and hopefully surrounding areas like Hemet, or Jenks. Weist even. Recently finished my spawn sack material fishing for channel cats, wrapping chicken liver with it. Works great! Will try it with saLMON EGGS NOW FOR TROUT.
Wet some hooks everyone! |

I know you right it just way to much if you go to some these pay to fish lake's, I don't know where you live at but you live around riverside I would try pardo lake you can take your boat if it is under 16 ft it cost 10 to park and 7 to fish and 2 to put the boat on the water for a total of $19.00 that's a lot cheaper. |

Had a great day at Lake Hemet, Trout were hitting every 5-10 min. on rainbow power bait, nightcrawlers and power worms 30 to 40 feet from the North bank. It was a bit too windy for the fly rod from shore. As soon as the sun went down the temp.dropped 15 - 20 deg. Buuuurrrr.
