    Hi there to all members. I am planning on starting up surf fishing this year and was wondering if anyone of you would have any good suggestions on what gear I should get to start. Any suggestions on what bait and lures I should try using would really be appreciated. Thanks for all your help.

    I've never surf fished before, but I've seen people do it.  They usually use relatively long rods with heavy line (most likely braid).
